Remote car starter

as long as you connect the factory alarm disarm. And some vehicles will require a bypass. The xterra may need one. Can you get an ALL metal key made and have it start the car and stay running?

Doing that will mean you have completely disabled your factory security, you don’t want that. All security bypass modules only bypass when the car is remote started (if installed properly) so you don’t want to be able to start the car with just a metal key.

no… he is checking to see if the key has a “transponder” chip in it. if it does all that has to be done is a key needs to be put into a secuirty module and hidden in the vehicle and when the remote starter activates the module turns on and makes the key cylinder think the key is in it. they are safe. and the other part of that he was talking about is in regards to the factory alarm but again this does not turn it off it just tricks it into dissarming when the remote start is activated or the keyless is activated. if people have questions just let me know.

Ah didn’t really read the whole thread, my bad.

i was gonna say… lol. If the vehicle does have a factory alarm, then you can also connect the factory re-arm wire and set the unit to re-arm the alarm so many seconds after remote starting. Not all vehicles/units have this capability though.

How bad is this guy on Freemans bridge, I got one for christmas last year from that shop and was finally gonna get around to having it installed in the next couple weeks. The one time I talked to him I thought he was an asshole too.

i have seen some of the work that comes out of there and its not good. i also heard that they only used referbished stuff with little to no warantee? dont know if thats true or not but thats what i was told
