Reputable Audio/Security Shop?

I need to get a radar detector / laser defense system DE-installed from a car.

I’m not messing around when I say reputable, either. I need somewhere that I can absolutely guarantee that the job will be done extremely professionally. This isnt a 240 or anything and I understand this isn’t the right place to be asking about a non-nissan but I don’t really have anyone else to ask

It’s called a Passport SRX

http://www.passportsr1.com/srx.htm

I think it’s probably fairly high-end so I need someone who has installed or de-installed one of these before.

Thanks in advance guys/gals.

You wanna take this little life saving gem off?

yes, is that ok with you sir?

a guy I know with the same unit had his car impounded when he got caught driving like an idiot and the cop wasnt able to hit him with his radar gun.

Farmer’s Shop…

Ouch… He didn’t know you’re supposed to slow down when it goes off?

This isn’t only a radar detector… it also jams the guns so that when they do hit you they get a “—” instead of “236km/h”

And Phil: That was a joke, right?

So Nobody knows a reputable audio shop? What about someone that specializes in bmw’s or something??

I actually wasn’t.

What’s wrong with Farmer’s shop? He’s done Porches etc. before…

If you want somewhere else though you can try Audio Haven…

or http://www.audioheaven.ca/

bmw shops will charge $80/hr and up. and no phil wanst joking. if you want this thing removed properly come and see me and ill fix you up. Ive worked on bmw’s, porsche, mercedes, and ferrari for almost 6yrs.

p.s. do not associate me with Altered Sound , i left there cause the way ppl were treated by the owner.

Farms, I’m not trying to put you down or anything - dont take it the wrong way.

I’m bringing a nearly $300,000 car to get some equipment removed and I can’t justify bringing it to somewhere that doesn’t specialize in luxury and exotics.

I’m not saying you would fuck it up, I know you wouldn’t and I’m sure you are more than qualified to do the easy work.

I need to keep in mind that when the car is being sold and I’m showing the service records to the potential buyer that he is well aware of the quality of work of the business on every bill that I show them.

This has nothing to do with the quality of Farmers work, it has to do with the reputation behind his shop which he unfortunately hasn’t had time to build up yet she he just opened it.

The costs to remove it aren’t an issue, it’s only a small job and $80-$100/hr or whatever isn’t a problem.

Thanks for the tips, regardless…

well… take the car to the Dealer for that car then.

$300,000? it must be a lambo / ferarri / aston martin etc…

go to Gentry Lane, or one of the places that specializes in those cars that is not run by cocky italians and you should be fine.

i can appreciate what you mean by not trusting it to a smaller shop… if your neck is on the line then you should take it to a plaec where if something bad happens, the fault will quite obviously fall on the place doing the work and not you.

yeah ferrari… thanks for the tip though bing - I had no idea a dealership would even touch things that arent branded ferrari

I’m in shock right now… I just got off the phone with Gentry Lane and wrap your head around this one…

They won’t even work on the car because it’s too new. They said “you would be out of your mind to take it anywhere other than the dealer, we won’t even touch it”

what the hell?

Get out the flat head, and some wire cutters an go to town…

On a slight more serious note… where is the closest Ferrari dealership?

Steeles near Weston. I had my semi-formal at a banquet hall right across it.

Maranellos downtown… the owner married in to the Ferrari Family and they were the ones whole stole the license to sell and service Ferraris in Ontario from Gentry Lane… bastards ;]

I bet his wife can drive stick…

likely

I wonder if they have a daughter…
