Riced out the 335's interior V. Carbon fiber

That looks really nice!

:tup::tup:

actually

DRY CF refers to the fact that the carbon fiber part is formed with pieces of pre-impregnated CF fabric… The Resin is actually solid at room temp, and requires high heat to form to shape (autoclave)… The resulting part is Stronger, and only requires 1 layer of CF, so it is therefore lighter

Wet CF refers to the fact that the CF is layed in the mold without any resin, and then wet resin is ADDED to the part, and then vacuum molded… there is no need for a fiberglass substrate… that is only used for cost saving measures to ensure that there is no “light holes” in the CF…

The DRY CF process produces a matte finish because of the resin type… then sometimes a UV protectant clear is applied to protect the part from UV breakdown if it is not going to be painted

The Wet CF process produces a glossy finish due to the type of epoxy resin used, and the variability in the surface of the part to allow for some inconsitancy…

def looks nice, price of all the materials and place to find them? this could be a nice touch in a lot of cars

this came out really good…i didnt think it would flow but you pulled it off

I got the material from a guy on E90 post.

X…

looks a lot better, that wood grain was awful. But TBH i don’t like either… I really don’t like CF though so it’s not that surprising :stuck_out_tongue:

nice work regardless

Looks sweet, better then the wood.

Looks great, I saw some people on bf.c do it on e39’s and e46’s and it just looks completely out of place. But the swooping lines in the e90’s look great with it.

I agree, one of the guys selling it did it on an older 5 series, and it just didn’t look right. Kinda made me hesitant, but I really like it on my car so far. I ordered a new black leather shifter too, to really draw your attention from that silver shifter, and toward the CF hotness. LOL

X…

wow great job

where did you order the fabric?

damn that looks good, much better. looks like you did it right and took your time

It looks similar to the trim on the e46 ZHP 330s

Which is not a compliment IMO.

The older cars just do not pull CF trim off well, they do pull Piano black and aluminum off fantastically though.

I love the overpriced (ZHP)^ with the cheap ass plastic mats in it

Looks good X…

where to find? is this the cheap ebay stuff?

.

nice work Xander, that came out real nice

cool write up. looks 10x better than the wood

Looks super good. Much better than that oem/old man wood paneling. Good job!
