So they polled 1,070 “200K+” people.
I know many 200k people and they are not stopping to take a poll.
Plus what was the income verification?
Sometimes I check that box because I want to feel better about myself.
Do you think people on myspace put their actual income?
Blue Eyed Devil, haven’t you done that enough? Get over it. Your boy lost, and now you’re going to cry about it for 4 years? Shut it. Most people on here don’t give a crap what you have to say politically.
okay, fine, going on your assumption that they lied about their incomes.
Let me break this down a little further…
CNN reporting that of the popular vote, Obama won 52 / 46.
Of the Exit Poll sample obama won 9356 (out of 17655), so he got 53%. So, I’m going to say that the exit poll is a fair representation of the actual votes, no? If thats the case, and you take income out of the equation - the exit poll is accurate (+/- 1%), in other words people were truthful about WHOM they voted for.
Even if every single person polled lied about their ACTUAL incomes, I’m willing to bet that of those 9356 polled not all of them were welfare people.
I will agree not all of them were on welfare.
But even the fact that 6% of the people who were polled said they were $200K
Only 2.7% of the people in the US have an income of over $200K
(Yes I trust wiki more than an exit poll unless you can provide better data)
Again I will state: how many $200K+ people do you know who will stop and fill out a detailed survey. Maybe you know a bunch that have some time to spare but I don’t.
Statistics are great because they provide validation. However they are subject to the interpretation of those that are using them for that purpose. So, I realize that this is going nowhere.
Stats are great when the data is reliable.
Even the one commentator on CNN kept saying how worthless the exit polls are but it was the only thing they had to fill 6+ hours of coverage.
If Tom Bradley taught us nothing it is that exit polls are worthless. People can say whatever they want in a poll. (yes I am aware that the Bradley effect would say that people would have said they were voting obama and voted McCain but that is not my point)
