Same here, the big toys are fun, but firing 35+ cents down range each pull on a 30mag clip gets expensive, and the 22 is still fun. I personally have the S&W M&P 15-22 and LOVE it, everyone I take out fights over it, I’d buy a 2nd one if they were $250ish vs $450ish.
^I’ve been torn about that rifle. It’s that or a Remington 700.
Google trigger problem Remington 700…
I dont always trust google. The rem 700 is the most popular platform for long range shooting. Im sure if there were huge problems people would go with other platforms.
I’ve read both great reviews and bad reviews. I know the 770 is garbage, the 700 seems to be the gun to get though.
Sorry to thread jack, I’m just in the same situation.
I don’t trust the media twisting the truth when it comes to firearms
^word. Some things , such a guns, definitely should be looked into though. (i am not a reliable source for this, just saying to look into it)
From what I gathered, these AD’s were from individuals with their finger on the trigger, pointing a rifle at another human being. I don’t blame the gun, I blame the owner. A rifle that’s been around 30+ years and has been proven both on the range and in the field is going to inevitably have a flaw, it’s irresponsibility that brings the flaw to light.
Ive seen some AD’s on the range when they were engaging the safety and the gun fired. Not anywhere near the trigger. That being said, i doubt this particular gun was maintained (Also it was aimed down range, so nbd)
LOL at saying the accutrigger has problems.
Does NYSpeed have an “official firearms” thread? I went to the range on Saturday with my newest acquisition and got to shoot a 1942 Mosin-Nagant, too; grabbed pics.
I feel a merge coming on.
Not really. The official word is we don’t promote any sort or firearms stuff around here while we don’t actively discourage it other than in classifieds.
I posted a thread up with gun specific forums to talk about stuff such as nyfirearms.com and www.nyshooters.net
Which is the preferred site? I may sign up, I’m back into the sport again.
Nyfirearms.com has far more traffic to it than NYshooters.com,
Honestly, I’d check out both and see where you like more. Nyfirearms does have a lot more traffic.
Opinions on the Ruger Mini-14? I’ve read a lot about it, but haven’t had a chance to shoot one yet. It looks like a super fun rifle.
Hows the selection currently at BGC? May stop in and check it out today!
I can over charge you from the convenience of your home if you’d like.
You can find mosin’s for $100 online, $130-150 locally, they are a blast.
LOL
I’ve been looking around and it seems like the parts to build are nowhere to be seen. Do you have some links for good parts sites for a build? uppers and lowers all seem to be on indefinite BO.
