Adelphia Communications Corp. founder John Rigas and his son, Timothy, lost an appeal of their convictions for looting the cable-television operator, putting them a step closer to prison terms of at least 15 years.

John Rigas had heart surgery in 1999 and has bladder cancer. At the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Judge Leonard Sand said Rigas can leave prison after serving at least two years if doctors say he has less than three months to live

:bloated:

Say what you want about tim but john took good care of the employees. The sons fucked up that company badly.

I wasn’t here for them, but what I heard was that he was very very good to his employees. His son on the other hand, bleh (from what I’ve been told by people here who were there for both.)

My point is, being told you have 3 months to live and you get to leave jail. Kinda lame imo, you’d imagine just not being sent. Although theres already speculation he might only get a 6 mo. sentance because of the cancer.
