So would you guys even bother having repairs done to my supposed frame damage? or just fix the rods and get it aligned. This is only my DD and honestly don’t have huge plans for this specific car. I will check a frame specialist just to see whats going on, but if i do get quoted at roughly 1 grand, i think ill just leave it be. BTW anyone know any frame specialist in scarborough?
I wouldn’t take it to a “frame specialist”… I have never heard of one before… I think they were talking about a body shop with a puller? If you are just using it as a DD then its no biggie even if the frame is bent. The most significant aligment angle is toe, replace the tierod, make sure the inner isn’t bent and there is no rack damage.
Do an alignment.
See what the caster and camber look like. As long as they aren’t waaaaay out to lunch the car will be fine. At worst it will pull a little (extreme caster and or camber meaning that the controll arm is usually bent too). Toe affects tire wear the most, next is camber and caster has virtually no affect on tire wear. Besides I have never seen a frame bent from a collision at that speed anyways unless it is rotten. Unless the frame is done anyways and will probably need pulling and patching.
I worked at CTC for 2 years when I first became an apprentice and 9/10 guys that work there are full of shit. I highly reccommend that you replace the tierod and take it somewhere else for an alignment, because I guarantee if you take it back there they will tell you something different every time.
Thanks. Yeah, I’ll have the tierod replaced this weekend and take it somewhere else for an alignment for sure.
you are right
i was reffering about his “15km per hour” crash
i shood have explained
you>me i loose
lol did u happen to go to mccowan n shepard? cause i work there, and i remember seeing a red 240 that need an alignment, if so, ur cars soilid, its just the front of the frame thats rusted up
i just joined the curb smack club… lol
Same. 'cept at 60, sideways in my bmw.
instead of smacking curbs i’ve started hanging the rear bumper over them in the snow… and instead i’m smacking hidden electrical boxes in the snow now…
