rims

hi. can i put a 17x8 with 225/45R17 (32 offset) on my 93 240sx fastback. i did roll my fender. will it rub? thanks!

Is your car stock height?

If so then yes, if no you will have to roll your fenders.

Since we’re on this topic sort of, what would be the max tire width possible without out rubbing on a lowered 240?

the 17x8 with 225/45R17 tires and 32 offset fits, comes in pretty flush and doesn’t rub on anything.

i’m using a hks hiper 2 coilover. there is no gap between the tire and the fender. it’s pretty low(i think)

Then you will need to roll the fenders forsure.

Thats the same setup as sasha was runnig IIRC and his rubbed.

i did roll my fender. just want to know will this set up rub. thanks!

I was running 17x9.5 +35 offset in the rear, and it rubbed slightly with properly sized 225 rubber.

17x8 and 225 with basic suspension change, shouldn’t rub. However, your tires are way too big from original profile. You should be using 225/40-17.

Depending on how low you set the car, the camber change could prevent rubbing with rolled fenders, and dampening set stiffer. I would try playing with that first. You can always resort to pulling the fender later.

Whoaaa… 225’s on a 9.5" wide rim?

Sounds close to the setup I bought from Deez. I can’t remember my exact ofset but I think it may be 32. With rolled fenders and the 225’s (I’m running 235’s) it should be fine.

You hamster bastard, I want my rims back!

Seriously, if you want to sell them back…how much?

where can i find 225/40R17 tire??? i can’t even find it from tirerack.

Whoops! My mistake. My sizing was totally off, and it seems like you do have properly sized tires.

I made that mistake because my old tires were actually 235/40-17. Hence the little slip-up with the 40 profile.
