Widest tires on stock fender 240sx/180sx

hey i just want to know whats the widest tires that have fit on a 240sx/180sx??

i’m going to be purchashing 18’ rims but im not sure how wide i’ll go with the rims. I want to know the widest tires that can fit before i get a right set of wide rims cause i’d rather run with wider tires then wide rims that stick out

Go on zilvia and enter my thread called “maximum rubber fitment” in chat.

Basically 245/40/17 on 17x9 with stock unbent/unrolled fenders… 255/40/17 on 17x9 with a bit of pulling/rolling. I’m running 255/40/17 17x9.5+18 all around… front needs pull, rear needs pull/roll… you’ll poop your front fenders most likely and will need to run at least -3 front and about -2 rear. In the rear you could go with a higher offset but the front no go…

With 18s… it becomes even more of an issue of the rim touching the spring/coilover… but… 255/35/18 should be balling… it takes alot more effort to fit larger tires on the front of an s13… height wise and inner/outer clearance wise… s14 front is ridiculously easier to work with… you will have to get rid of your fender liner crap btw, will need to tighten harness upwards or relocate… and for your own benefit should flatten fender front and rear so it doesn’t rape your tire… quite possibly may wana bang up some of the seams on the firewall and bellow strut tower that may poke your tire… always test full rotation… and take into consideration that the car will compress on bumps and the tire will go in and probably hit/rub on something.

For now im planning on going with some 18x8 or x8 1/2 What would be a good offset if i were to get tires that were 245’s on those rims

im thinking maybe +20 to +35

Ryan

go at least 18 x 9 or 9.5 i think 18 x 8 looks to tall and kinda wack.

i would go that by 9 wide but i’d rather run with wider tires then thinner, plus when i get my wider rear fenders i’ll run a bigger stance.

Even if i run 18x8 or 18x 8 1/2 it might look taller but if i run 245/35 it’ll look wide

on a 17 x 9.5 +20 you could run a 265 if you roll the fenders and pull a bit, but it depends on how much camber you run.

^With a spacer maybe, i have 17x9.5+18 and i have 255/40/17 thats more like a 265 (runs wide), it has literally like 1-2mm of clearance between tire and coilover.

For a grip car i wouldn’t go less than a 9.5 up front  Just because  Dreaming of fitting an 18x11 some day hehe I will do it

i run 17 x 9.5 / 17 x 10.5 with a 245 / 275 on an S13 coupe with stock fendre… rolled.

yea i would probably go with 17’s on the front with that offset, but i want to go different in the rear cause everyone runs 17’s, i want 18’s in the rear running 245 for now with maybe a 8.5 wide rim just so the 245 tire would protect it from curb rash. so for now maybe 18’s in the back with maybe 18mm to 25mm offset running 8.5 rear wide, Whatchu guys think???

Later i got my 50mm rear fenders and maybe a 30-50 front fender then i will go big

Depends on how much camber you have though. a +20 would give you that clearance over a +18. I’ve seen it done. Although i haven’t done it.

I m on 17 x 9.5 with a 235/40/17, just rolled fenders, no pull.

I had 18x9.5 with a 265 tires and NO spacers!.. rolled fenders

fack Im running 18 x 11 with 255 35s no prob… If i dropped my spacer i could fit 265s no prob… lol stock fender

Just don’t drive into a curb and you won’t need to protect your wheels from curb rash. Seems pretty simple, no?

Hey bing what offset on those rims??

what do you guys think if i ran with 245/35/18 on 8.5 wide rims with an offset of maybe 40mm

Measure your current clearances with your current wheel specs and use this.

40mm? no way man, go way lower. battles are x 9.5 + 15 i think, go around there, good fit on stock body.

I run a 40/275 on a 17x9 with a plus +36. Fenders are rolled slightly with no issues.

well i was thinking of an offset from 25-40 so that when i run 18x8.5 i’ll have 245/35 that will buldge out a lil without any problems hitting the rear fender

I have stock body, and am running 245’s in the rear, could go 255 but would rub

Eh quick question! About what u said: “Basically 245/40/17 on 17x9 with stock unbent/unrolled fenders”
What kind of offset would I be able to have with the size of tire and rim that i quoted u?
