Rothlisfucker deal

x2… make that shit big enough for Monster Jam lol

you can;t hold it against elway that you didnt like him… he was one of the best ever. up until favre passed him he had the most wins of any QB, he’s 3rd in passing yards, 1st in 4quarter combacks…etc etc

You got me there… Good point…that sucks and that’s why I live somewhere where the taxes on our house are $800 for the year!

I know… Just like I hate!!! Peeon Deion Sanders…but he was one of the best coverage corners in history…He just annoyed the shit out of me with his lame ass “tackles”…really a push out of bounds.

The Steelers generate far more revenue into the city’s pockets than the city paid out to build it. It was an investment, and a wise one. Also, the Steelers chipped in close to 80 million for the deal. Thats not chump change, and they get no ownership rights.

was it thou? was dan rooney gonna move the steelers? the answer is NO. he called the bluff and the politicians buckled. in the long run heinz will bring in more money not bcause of the stadium itself but all the development around it. 80 mill is definetly chump change for the steelers to pay. they are worth like 10 times that. i would have liked to see 80 mill put into three rivers for strictly football. pitt was the key to the whole thing

ill agree with that right there… but for the Pirates, Steelers make the money they deserve the stadium, imo i have no problem with my tax $$ goin to Heinz field… PNC Park on the other hand… Ehh

I know NFL football is huge for TV, advertising etc, but I’ve never seen good data on 7 games/yr generating that much revenue.

thats 450,000+ tickets sold a year, at $100/ticket (tickets are DEFINITELY more than that) thats 45million a year w/o any food, drinks blah blah blah being sold… and thats saying we dont go to the AFC Championship with home field advantage like Ben’s rookie year and tickets are $350+/ticket.

And thats also saying that the Steelers playing there games there is the only thing that goes on there… which is not true at all

EDIT: This is for fucking Kenny faggot Chesney… look at them ticket prices

That’s true that all of those things generate revenue, but how much of that actually flows through?

There are massive costs to every game, and the Steelers are keeping some % of the proceeds after the costs. Do you think the city gains anything other than “job creation” ?

I bet Kenny’s crew keeps a lot of that cash. I’d love to know how much they pay to use the place for the concert.

Oldsrocketman, can you give us any good info?

Oh yessss a very good point also…you are wise…DARKSTAR

lets all kick in some dough and rent it for a day lol

you only look at the small picture… i’ve explained this so many times but here we go one more time… heinz field holds roughly 60,000 for football. with preseason and playoffs you are lookin at 12 home games… so thats about 720,000 tickets. the pirates averaged aprx 24,000 per game x 81 games… thats 1,944,000 tickets. ok you starting to see… if not i’ll continue…aprx 7 pitt home games plus 12 steelers games plus a concert or two plus the WPIAL and city league… heinz field surface gets used less than 25 times a year… so that only 25 dates of parking revenue, resturant patronism, hotel patronism, air port travel, cab service… etc etc… just the pirates alone 81 days… 81 days people spend money at local bars, stay in hotels…etc etc… the money the city makes off of pirates games destroys what they make off of, at the most, …12 steelers home games. thats not even factoring in people goin to a bars watching the bucco game when they are on the road the other 81 GAMES!.. the steelers clearly are the most popular thing in this city and sell more merchandise than anything but when it comes to revenue as a whole brought into the city… you can’t argue against those numbers i just provided.

morale wise… the city needs the steelers
financially wise… the city needs the pirates

wonderful analogy, that would all be true if you took into account whats the price of a steeler ticket as opposed to a pirate ticket pal?

are you blind? big picture!!! the price of the ticket goes into the steelers pocket not the city… only a certain tax, thats all, same with the pirates… I’m talkin about the money thats brought in by local business in realtion to the games both teams play. thats the money that stimulates the local economy… not what dan rooney puts in his pocket.

and 12 games and 720,000 was the max… if they dont make the playoffs thats 10 games and 600,000 tickets… when the pirates are still 81 at the minumum. if they pirates were ever good they would be over 2.5 million tickets sold plus they would sell 39,000 per play-off game and the max for baseball could be 11 home games. but as it is they still are gettin 1.94 mil.

i’ll give you another example… lets use the gateway clipper… the gateway clipper shuttles people from station SQ to the northside… they do it 10-12 times a year for steelers games… they do it 81 times a year for pirates games… where are they making more money from? even if they make 1/3 per pirate game than they do on one steelers game they are still makin money on the pirates…

doesnt matterwhat the cost of the ticket is… i dont like the pirates but hes right… tickets for pirate games can be almost 3x cheaper than steeler tickets and still be equal to the money brought in as there are almost 3x as many pirate tickets sold in a season. again… im not a baseball fan but oldsrocketman is right on his numbers. you cant really argue facts

Is Cutty unfuckablewith?

thats all i’m tryin to say… everyone knows i work for the pirates but i too like the steelers more than the pirates. it has less to do with the team than it does the sport of baseball… but thats a different topic.

your missing my point… nobody does the shit you say… nobody books hotels to see the pirates, nobody flys in from outta town to see the pirates, I personally have never seen a pirates bar. how many fucking ppl have you talked to at a pirates game that said ya i just flew in from NC to watch this game… were staying at one of the most expensive hotels then were gonna hit up a pirates sports bar afterwards. your #s dont add up to me cause ive never seen that

last pirate game i was at last year there were 15k ppl and probably 10k of them were kids. most of the pirates fucking games are played during the day… when the ppl that actually spend money (adults) are at work, not even knowing the pirates are playing that day
