Roundabouts?

I live right by that one and have had so many near misses from people not knowing WTF to do. Also at rush hour sometimes you end up either shoehorning your way in or waiting forever. However along with the one at Cleveland it did stop Harlem from backing up due to red lights, so I’m somewhere between love and hate.

there are 3 in hamburg. i love them, and i have soooo many stories about crazy shit i have seen while navigating them

so after my parents going away party tonight, i came home and went to bed. i was tuckered. at about 1:00 am some friends called me and dragged me, kicking and screaming, to jp’s. (jk i went willingly)

so we get there, and we’re sitting on the back deck drinking whiskey when we hear a screech and a muffled boom from the big clark st / buffalo st roundabout.

we all turn and look just in time to see a car drive straight through the roundabout at about 30 mph, and smash directly into the statue in the center. words cannot describe the collision, the way the rear end lifted off of the ground, and the smoke and madness that ensued… either way a few people ran over trying to help, i pulled out my phone and called 911 thinking someone died

apparently dude jumped out of the car, ripped off his plates (thinking that would help at all?) and ran down south park towards tops. i’m assuming he was mildly concussed, because he only made it to the parking lot before collapsing…

it works out well, bc someone hit said statue a year or two ago from the other direction, and the slight angle it was sitting at was bothering me. glad to see everything evens out in the end
