spoke to a few ford dealerships, and I am showing some interest in getting a new sports car, I entertained the thought of getting a stang, or something from chevy.
I was told the Roush was the better buy, better car for less $, actually said the roush beat the gt500 in test runs. any truth, exp, or hard numbers to compare? I know the roush is 427hp/385 tq, and the gt500 is 500hp/tq? options?
the roush is 415HP according to roush http://www.roushperformance.com/mustang_427r.shtml . the GT500 is 450+ but both are a pulley swap away from a lot more power. it all depends on pricing. i do think the 2 are priced VERY close. it’s just getting around dealer markup. i know shults up here in wexford has both the roush and the GT500. maybe take a trip up and see both
Roush = Cheaper for a reason. Stages 1 and 2 are a waste… Stage 3 is only 415 HP. 427R is the only one I’d buy. Roush’s look too Pep-Boys stick on for me.
or get any DOHC mod motor from an old school lincoln and throw in some decent rods and pistons and put as much boost as you can thru it. It seems to be the cheaper route because you can’t seem to find terminator engines for less than $8000.
if i could afford the GT500 id get one. dont care if 03-04 cobras, vettes etc will beat it. its just an awesome car for the price. i mean, id prob take a z06 over it, but id still own the gt500 and not care.
