im not sure what i want to do with it yet, make it a NA monster 2.4 or turbo it???
cool thing is i can use a brand new SRT-4 turbo manifold and SRT-4 turbo on this head, so i can get the turbo, all the lines, the turbo, and a bunch of other stuff for nothing over $1,200 i may want to rebuild the top end a little to prepare for turbo but im not sure if i want to keep it NA or turbo it… if i do turbo it its not going to see anything over 10psi for a loooooong time… i dont need to blow anything up… but im sure with
Iceman intake
3 inch exhuast
P&P intake manifold
P&P turbo manifold
P&P head
60mm Throttle body
Unorthodox underdrive pulley
SRT-4 intercooler
thats what im doing first i think… then if i get bored its getting turboed.
i’ll be finding myself a daily driver here soon, i was thinkin a jeep maybe :boink
If you don’t turbo it, you’ll regret it. I’ve seen some great numbers out of an SRT-4 turbo slapped on a 1G Neon. Buy a used SRT-4 turbo, you’ll save a lot of cash.
yeah i think i remember somebody posting an rt with a srt turbo running 13s on 8 psi with no intercooler. i have no truth to it but ill look for the thread on srtforums
no, the mounts dont bolt up correctly, plus it would cost a fortune…
thus why i swapped a 2.4 in already :hsdance: then turboing if i decide to
its been proven that if you swap the stratus 2.4 into a 1stgen neon and turbo it you will run next to or beat stock SRT-4’s :bigthumb:
my car is done with appearence, theres nothing else getting done to it besides gunmetal 9lb 15 inch wheels. all money for car will be dumpped into motor now :evil smile:
Voltage clamp or Missing link. Your computer freaks out when it sees boost so you need some way to stop that. Either by electrical means (voltage clamp) or mechanical means (missing link)
voltage clamp= using a 4.3 volt 1/2 watt Diode method so the fuel doesnt get cut off once the computer sees boost
Missing Link= metallic condom for the MAP sensor, so it doesn’t see boost
:blue:
I was talking about the crankshaft position sensor, the 03+ engines all use a different trigger wheel with a different pattern - they won’t work with the older ECUs.
