when everything is fair, and everyone has the same thing, its called communism.
I love when people point to Canada’s health care system as a model we should follow. A guy I work with lives there and is a dual citizen. He pays for his health insurance through my employer because, in his words, “If my family gets seriously sick, I don’t want to die waiting for treatment in Canada”.
It’s funny, until you realize he really is dishing a good chunk of his own money to pay for a family plan because he’s 100% serious.
:word: Shortly after I started at Praxair I had a steep learning curve because I had to pick up the slack for a Praxair Canada ACS engineer who had a heart attack and needed a triple bypass while he was in NY.
I was on-site in British Columbia with a few Canadians just talking about how he is and they were all non-chalantly (sp?) saying “Thank God he was in NY when it happened.”

The world is not ready for either a woman or a black Muslim US president. Hilary is pure evil but Obama is actually a decent guy. They are the only two dems that could insure a Republican victory after the retardedness of GW.

he is a member of the United Church of Christ you dumb fuck
and his dad was from Kenya and his mom is Indonesian, and he came from a broken home
none of the above

Actually, you might want to do some research about what religious school he attended as a child, it wasn’t a christian academy. He is a professional, and will do what he needs to get elected, to include change his church association.

Political debate… SIGH… no need, theres no way in hell Hilary will win. If by some act of god himself she wins, I will shave my head and let the highest bidder draw a penis on it. (And on that note I will not enter this thread again until after Election day)

can we hold you to this?

In 1988, while employed as a summer associate at the Chicago law firm of Sidley & Austin, Obama met Michelle Robinson, who also worked there.[129] The two married in 1992 in Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ.[130] They have two daughters, Malia, born in 1999, and Natasha, born in 2001.[131] The family makes their home in Hyde Park, Chicago.[132]
A theme of Obama’s keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and the title of his 2006 book, The Audacity of Hope, was inspired by a sermon by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the pastor of Trinity Church.[133] In the book, Obama describes his non-religious upbringing:
I was not raised in a religious household. My maternal grandparents, who hailed from Kansas, had been steeped in Baptist and Methodist teachings as children, but religious faith never really took root in their hearts. My mother’s own experiences as a bookish, sensitive child growing up in small towns in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas only reinforced this inherited skepticism. […] My father was almost entirely absent from my childhood, having been divorced from my mother when I was 2 years old; in any event, although my father had been raised a Muslim, by the time he met my mother he was a confirmed atheist, thinking religion to be so much superstition.[134]
Obama writes that his religious convictions formed during his twenties, when, as a community organizer working with local churches, he came to understand “the power of the African American religious tradition to spur social change”:
It was because of these newfound understandings–that religious commitment did not require me to suspend critical thinking, disengage from the battle for economic and social justice, or otherwise retreat from the world that I knew and loved–that I was finally able to walk down the aisle of Trinity United Church of Christ one day and be baptized. It came about as a choice and not an epiphany; the questions I had did not magically disappear. But kneeling beneath that cross on the South Side of Chicago, I felt God’s spirit beckoning me. I submitted myself to His will, and dedicated myself to discovering His truth.[135]
Before announcing his presidential candidacy, Obama began a well-publicized effort to quit smoking. “I’ve never been a heavy smoker,” Obama told the Chicago Tribune. “I’ve quit periodically over the last several years. I’ve got an ironclad demand from my wife that in the stresses of the campaign I don’t succumb. I’ve been chewing Nicorette strenuously.”[136]

Hillary. Bill was the, edit, worst prez we had in a LONG time, i think she will follow suit.
Dont forget the Obama factor.

and not because he had issues in the oval office but because 5 times there were Terrorist on the USA and what did he do about it? nothing! he sucked thanks for playing! :bloated: GO RUDY!!!1
Rudy is one of the finest examples of a “politicians politician”…he’s my choice for republican candidate, but that’s just because he’s the most liberal republican running (aside from ron “i don’t have a shot in hell” paul)
While Hillary would be too divisive she’d make a good president on paper. Joe Biden is clearly the most qualified. John Edwards has a lot of potential, mostly because he’s decided he’s done listening to 8 million political advisers
And LOL at republicans who support McCain but ragged on Kerry for not having a backbone…McCain has done such a political/rhetoric 180 it’s hilarious talk about no backbone
Thank god the poor southern people will prevent Rudy from getting the republican nomination, not because his economic policies will crush them but because he’s pro-choice, at least sometimes I guess the ends justify the means
Mitt Romney is the republicans best choice for a real leader who would actually promote a decent agenda…too bad fear of Mormons (although well justified) will prevent that from happening.
Obama can actually win. Edwards could win, esp with Obama as VP…talk about a ticket that can inspire. If Biden doesn’t get made secretary of state we got some serious issues.
^lol
I’m torn on who i want the republicans to run. On one hand i’d like a complete douche so he gets trounced in the general election, but on the other hand we all know republicans don’t have to get the most votes to win elected office, and if he somehow won that would be disastrous.
and the russian, you better believe we’d bust out the flip flopper tag on mccain so fast it’d make your head spin. Hell, they did it on kerry and they didn’t have cause. All they need for ammo is footage, readily available, of him as a moderate, now his newly conservative stance on the same issues, then he’ll probably go back to being a moderate if he survives the primary. either way, good luck.

And i say i’m god, does that mean its true. He says whats needed to get elected. Who would admit to being brought any different than christian in an election in the USA. I bet you believed old Bill Clinton too when he looked america dead in the eyes and said he didn’t have sex with that slut.

And it sounds like you are believing the republican party, cause you do know they do say anything to stop someone else from being elected. Despite quotes coming from his own book from 1995
Who cares if he had a Muslim father?
Why is the WORLD not ready for a president with a Muslim name? Last I checked Muslim faith was one of the top 3 religions in the world.
Did you actually mean to say that you don’t think America is ready for the President to have some sort of connection with the Muslim faith in his history? I think the people will decide that one thru the elections.
I think Rudy is just what my party needs. Strong on defense, fiscal conservative, more liberal when it comes to the “god stuff”. Hopefully the beating we took in the last election will wake enough of the party up that he’ll get the nomination.
I seriously doubt old Hildog will get the nomination, nor will Obama-mama. Look for giant douche Edwards to walk away with it.

Yup, thats what i think. I’ve been around the planet, fighting one religion, just one. One religion had waged war against our, and many other countries. While I agree that 80 percent of the religion is fine. There are entire coultries full of asshat extremests. I’m not ready, and i think the majority of this country isn’t ready for a Muslim president. Hate away :meh:
I don’t know what rudy really has to bring to the table. He is VERY anti-gun, abortion views are unknown (i’m very pro-choice, because i hate the government getting into my life, but repubs like the pr-life shit) and he only had one great moment, which i don’t think he did such a stunning job. He did a good job, but does one project prove he can run a country in international affairs, nope.
I really think, that the list of candidates is terrible, on both sides. but who in their right mind would take on the job of president, in this media driven bash fest. If you love your family, and your life, you will never run for Pres. So all we have left, is all the money/power craving assholes.

Well good. Know that your beloved Christians slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people, and waged awars against other countries, over the course of ALL ages of history. So by your logic, that would make the entire world not ready for any sort of religion president.
A few bad Apples don’t judge an entire race, religion or ethnicity, and if you’re too damn stupid to realize that, I pity you.
Oh, and you weren’t fighting a religion. You were fighting a type of person.
