running 13 psi

hey my fellow n-e-c-c brothers. just need a quick answer…if anyone can help plz do…flaming welcome

i have a stock sr20det and am running at 13 psi…should i upgrade my fuel pump or can my stock handle it …

Probably a good idea to do it… from what I can see it’s not that hard to do and it only costs like $100 for a Walbro.

Related question:
-The stock SR MAF will be good up to 14psi before a tune is needed, correct? How about the T25g itself, it is probably only good up to 12psi, correct and at this boost the injectors are running about 90% duty cycle?

Basically what I have right now is the FMIC coming in and I will put the boost up to 12psi and see what it can do (no fuel pump yet but I think I will do it for safety).

I’m running 13psi on the stock turbo and fuel pump with only intake, FMIC and 3inch downpipe/exhaust system.

Run’s fine.

you should have upgraded your fuel pump when you upgraded your motor son!

edit: wow all 3 of you are running a stock fuelpump???

The t25’s efficiency maxes out around 14 psi, but i definitely wouldnt run the injectors past 12 psi. Sure you CAN do it, but when your injectors get above 80% duty cycle they start to get a little unpredictable, and in the end, are you willing to trade your engine for 2 psi of boost? Oh and by stock fuel pump do you mean on USDM car swapped with SR swapped in? Or is it a JDM car? Either way its a very simple mod that can save you big headaches.

I would do it, better safe than sorry. I have one for sale for $100 as a matter of fact.

^^^ Snag that.

i was running 12 psi, turned it down to 9. ran fine though. if you are running 12 or 13 psi your stock turbo wont last too long.

why wouldnt it? have you tried it? sorry travis not to be a dick or anything, but my car was at 1 bar all the time last year, my turbo is fine no shaft play no leaks nothing…stock turbos are indestructible.

yup it’ll last for maybe a month on 14 and so on from there i know from experience just blew the turbo no other major damage tho if your going to run 14psi just unplug lin einto the waste gate its pretty much the same difference just alot faster hahah

i was told that anything over 13 psi your turbo life will be greatly reduced. not saying your turbo will last a few days, but it wouldnt last as long as if your boost was slightly lower.

we will see how long mine last

my old sr20 240 was running 12psi 100% stock, and it ran fine

the sr20 is supposed to run at around 12psi stock. the 7psi people talk about is the wastegate setting, but you’ll notice on a stock setup there is an electronically controlled relief valve T’d into the wastegate line which can effectively control how wide the wastegate opens.

(mine runs 12psi too, but i did upgrade fuel pump and fuel filter)
