rust specs on white paint

Wetsanding for iron fallout removal(considering there are non shearing ways to approach this) is a really aggressive approach considering how little material is on some modern OEM vehicles to begin with. Not to mention(and perhaps its the scale of how bad I may have seen some) even removing all that material may leave some of the stuff behind… severity depending of course.

I could kill a fruit fly with a house fogger bomb, but why would I when I can buy a non invasive little disposable trap.

It is “rail dust”. Most cars get shipped on trains. The iron track and the wheels of the train wear, and this produces dust. It gets on and in the fresh paint of new cars, and this is the result.

^Considering most cars, including cars that have been on the road for quite some time, have this as well, I highly doubt it’s from shipping on a train.
