Hey fellas quick question,
My S10 (4.3L) I use occasionally takes about 3-5 seconds to start when cold (This may not seem like a long time but a car should take 1-2). So I threw a fuel pressure gage on it and the pressure drops at the rail from 55PSI to 0 within 10 seconds. After doing some research apparently GM is known for their shitty fucking fuel pumps (specifically the check valves failing) allowing fuel to return to the tank hence hard starting.
At first I was going to cut a hole in the bed, then I decided to lift the bed since it’s rust free to replace the fuel pump. But before I do that, has anyone installed a one way check valve outside the tank such as:
It would be a lot easier than replacing a pump/sending unit for 200$ that’s working fine.
Thoughts?
