Does anyone know the redline on a 2.2 liter s10? Not really that important but i was thinking about putting a tach in mine and wanted to see what to set it at…thanks
- install tach
- rev it up in neutral until it blows up
- install new engine
- set tach redline for less than where it blew the first engine up at
6500
and the solid red starts at 6800
really? i was told on my old 2.2 it was 5500. this is the 94-97 2.2, i dunno what they changed in the 98’s to give it the 2 extra hp
ya i’m pretty damn sure on that, i called my buddy that curently has a 2.2 5spd and thats what the tach goes too he sad
i never had a tach in mine, when i put one in i just set it at 5500 from what i was told on s10forum
then again i didnt really need it, mine was an auto
i dunno how accurate the tach is…my s10 blazer(even though it’s the 4.3) redlines at like 5500 on the tach…but i’ve ran it probably a good bit higher than that before it actually starts to bounce
4.3 tachs & 4cyl ones are different
gee i wonder why i put (even though mine is a 4.3)
he was not asking for a 4.3, why comment in the first place?
my 390 in my truck is 4500, I hope that helps in your search for your 2.2L.

well you have twice as many cylinders so it must rev twice as high
we have the same vehicle just different year/engine size…something could have been related…unlike your 390 which has nothing to do with GM
xlogic does it again:rolleyes:
Just stop posting.
