s13 brake kit

if you are locking up easily in traffic, your tires are probably crap

For a street car, the stock brakes with upgraded pads rotors and lines is a awesome. At your projected power level, you would have no problems.

If you however do track your car, or even plan to track your car, then I would say don’t waste money on stock brakes, just upgrade to z32 right away.

One thing I personally noticed with the z32 brakes, is the iron 30mm calipers don’t fade anywhere near as quick as the aluminum ones on track, they are heavier however. So that might be a good option for some people that think that the z32 brakes fade, because in actuality a well put together package won’t fade, I’ve put my brakes through countless test over the past few years, 10+ lapping days, and like 10-15 drift days, And i never have problems related to brake fade, feel or power.

And yeah, with all things in perspective, at the end of the day, Tires will always be the best bang for buck, especially considering they would improve multiple aspects of your car.

I have J30’s at the front with the OEM pads and new rebuilt S13 calipers at the back with HP+. I’m happy with the setup. Never got it to fade, after a hard stop, I can pull over and touch the front rotors. They are lukewarm. Enough said?

I did a hard stop with a 750li, touched the front rotor, it burned my finger. lol

I know that is not a scientific test, but J30/Q45’s seem to be a decent upgrade, plus the stock style line can be used, no conversion necessary. All you need to do is redrill the 5 lug rotors to 4 lug (assuming you’re still 4-lug). The balance is still pretty decent, no front brake immediate lockup.

What I did notice in my setup is when I first brake, I have to apply a LOT of pressure to get any braking force. Once they warm up, they grab pretty well. I found that odd considering I have OEM pads at the front…

^, you could fix that initial brake problem by setting up your master cylinders piston thing a bit longer, or upgrade to a larger brake master cylinder (z32).

z32 brake master cylinders can be had for 100$ rebuilt from Napa if you give them your 240’s brake master core, they don’t care if its not the same, they just want a core. Its a pretty effective way to improve braking when you upgrade to bigger calipers.
