Got all the suspension arm/spindle bushings all buttoned up in the last couple days
Heres what I had when everything came off the car: good old georgia clay
Here are a few pics of pressing the bushings out of the suspension arms i’m keeping
Heres one of the arms sans bushings
I then removed the wheel bearings/hubs from the uprights and pressed all the bushings out of them
Everything with no bushings:
Sorry no pics of the energy bushing install but heres the finished product:
the grease that ES gives you is some of the stickiest shit that has ever touched my hands but i guess its that way for a reason (even though it definetly isnt apparent to me)
yeah ill definetly let you know when im ready to buy, thanks bing
I would have to agree, nissan cruise would be cool too
im well aware but years ago when I was 17 and bought those $1200 coilovers were well out of my reach. not so much anymore.
the only reason they arent already sold is I want a way to put the car down if needed and I dont have money for coils quite yet.
thanks man, I definetly want to see all the other 240’s in the area. Ive somehow managed to not see anyone even though ive been driving a modded 240 ever summer since '05 ??? :gotme:
(with the exception of arcticzap that is)
hey jim u need to get at me we can cruise the nissans i have had my s14 for 4yrs now n the only other one i have ever seen driving is my boy with the awsome soul broutha brown. i have seen a white s13 with a sr20 n 350z rims also but dont kno who it is
yeah definetly man as soon as the season starts we will have to get together
I do plan on doing the spindles. the arms just need some cleaning, the paint underneath is actually really nice.
but at the same time though, my parents are getting divorced so I might not have a garage soon. I dont know if alot of little details are going to happen.
i was thinking about doing energy poly bushings in my car, but i heard that poly bushings squeek like a mofo. ill be interested to see how it goes with yours.
My buddy put the energy poly bushings on his coupe, and never had any squeking. He put them in with a bunch of silicone and made sure they were very clean.
just from putting them in ive noticed that the poly sleeve streches ALOT when you press it in ( for example you can easily slide the brass sleeve into the poly piece before you press in the poly but once you try putting in the brass sleeve after, it must be viced or pressed in)
just from the amount of pressure and friction on the poly piece I couldnt imagine that moving before the bolt in the sleeve or even the sleeve in the poly
GL Jim, this rides gonna kick ass when you get done. This makes me wish i hadn’t sold my coupe. And thanks again for coming all the way out to see mine when it was for sale. The coupe you have now is really clean.
just when i thought jim had dropped off the face of the automotive earth, he comes back with something jaw dropping. this looks to have ridiculous potential man. good luck with it and call me up sometime if you need an extra pair of hands.
definetly going KA-t when money and time allows, for now I could probly afford it but the first track day is early june and I definetly want to be ready for it.
bah, with DOHC this thing could be boosted for ± 600 bucks. Depending on the build you want. I love seeing another coupe around, can’t wait to see this when its done.
are you just staying KA for now minus the turbo? and which track day do you speak of? by then i should have a car that’s not suited to being comfortable to fart in.
yeah im planning on staying KA for at least the first part of the season, I do have a few mods though. (apexi hybrid megaphone, spec stage 2+, secondary butterfly removal, egr delete, AIC valve delete, magnecor plug wires, a walbro, clutch fan delete, Complete AC delete, electric fans and thermoswitch, I also have alot of money into maintinence and preventative shit)
I want to get through at least half of the track days before I consider doing anything that might put the car down for the rest of the summer.
the trackdays this year are at dunnville autodrome in Ontario (about 90 minutes away) and are put on by NYSpeed/blown euros and son240sx.org they have 8+ days pre registered. you can find out more info at onyxsyndicate.com
check out the for sale section i have everything you need but the turbo for 300 bucks the mani oil line kit the oil pan with the fitting on it. i even have a front mount and sr20 injectors if you want a package deal
mm no shit. i’m really interested in heading up there this summer if i can get a spot there. did the motor come out of the 5 sp swapped maroon car or somewhere else? and i can’t believe rita endured a trip down to hick country to get you a project :lolsign:
