S13 speed limiter. Dont want it.

I want to get rid if my speed limiter. I think I asked it before but I dont remember what I was told. Im not looking for any pivot meters or anything like that I just want to know the wiring to bypass. Thanks for your help.

I can let you know what doesn’t work on a SR swapped car. Cutting the geeen/yellow wire doesn’t, unless my switch is faulty. It causes the tach to do funny things. This would help with dyno runs when you have a bigger turbo and want to use 4th gear.

When’s the last time an s13 went fast enough to HIT the speed limiter? :ROFL

Btw, Dodge Caravans are electronically limited to 145 Kph. :smiley:

It takes you about 5 min to hit the speed limiter…if you can find a big enough hill, so what’s the point?

P.S. I’ve had our '91 Caravan up to 170km/h. :E

I hit the one on my old 240. Buried the needle without even red-lining and the revs were only around 5500 rpms.

Ya, on the dyno, we have to use 3rd gear cause it will bury the needle in fourth.

down the highway i hit the speed limiter often but only in 5th gear and it is not up a hilll.

what exactly happens when you hit it? I racked er’ up to 185 once, but nothing happened. does it cut the fuel and shut er off? or does it just bounce off a limiter?

im wondering if i let off before it restricted me…but from what i was told the cut off is 180

240sx is at about 180km maybe a little higher, and it just cuts your throttle off for a second, i hit it almost everyday in my 240sx, which still has the ka24de in it so suck it pyrexxx :anal anyways, it hits it in fifth gear about 1500rpm before redline.

Apparently the Spec is drag limited to about 145MPH (232 Kph).

Anyone that wants to do 145 in a Sentra is clearly quite insane. :smiley:

You mean disco potato ‘SpecVs’ are fast? They don’t look fast. I’ll bet they handle like a sail boat over 100kms.

BTW - I hit the speed limiter all the time, no problem and RPM to spare ont the KA24DE - so, suck it. And yes approx 185km.

Disco Potato Spec? I’m talking about stock cars or one with N/A mods. Specs are only turboed in the aftermarket, not from the factory.

Fastest I’ve ever had my car was 150K, and I did it passing a school bus. Maybe I should be the one getting the stunting ticket! :smiley: Actually, I’d be curious to race a stock 240 and see where my car stacked up…

I hit mine about every 2 min’s on the way up to SCC last sept. Everytime I want to race someone on the highway i.e C5’s, Mustangs ect I would ruin them for like 2 sec’s and then they pass me cuz I hit the limiter.

Still no info on how to bypass and sounds to me like everyone on this forum wants it gone.

Would the trick with the automatic tranny ECU work? I have heard that works for KAs, but I dont know about SRs. Or is the sensor it cuts off the same one that Jared cut the wire to?

No that wont work. Im running the 63 ECU already from a 91-93 and It still has speed limiter. I was thinking that would work too but nope :? . I know you can unplug your speed sensor but I still want my speedo. I guess it will work for just on road trips but I know theres a way to bypass some shit?? Just need to know what that is. Thanks.

Regular KA is easy. Just unhook, your 5th gear position sensor. The SR tranny does not have this sensor. My white 240SX did 210 on Manning. KA24E powah!!!

My speedo unfortunately only goes to 240…I’ve gone a wee bit faster than that.
