Hot tank is at a machine shop… they basically boil the block in a huge tank that gets hot lol

Boiling the block really the only way to get serious carbon buildup taken off but it works stupid amazingly and you won’t regret it. Or if you have a pot big enough just boil it yourself lol…

lol i might just boil them myself, just the pistons, someone told me carbon carb cleaner would work? updating soon for the past 2 days

okay so yesterday i spent most of the day measuring, i was by myself most of the day just listening to my ipod in peace, i miked the crank and all the main and rod journals were within spec, so this weekend im sending the block out to get honed and the crank out to get polished, i should be getting my bearings and main studs from bing soon, so the bottom end will be going back together soon. i also took the pistons off the rods and started to clean the oil pan.

after i did all that, i tried getting the carbon off the pistons, so i bought a jug of varsol and soaked them in it over night… i didnt do shitand i rinsed them off and wiped them with rags still nothing, so im going to try boiling them, does anyone know if theres a specific temp to boil them at?

okay so today, i got up at 7 went to the shop took the pistons out of the varsol and nothing :frowning: so i left picked up my girlfriend we had breakfest and then we left for toronto. in toronto, we picked up turbo lines lower harness and an ignitor chip. then off to scarbrough where i picked up my favorite thing in the world, other than my gf. i got a holset hx35w curtesy of BenMack1989! and then we went to markham and picked up a cas but couldnt get the tranny in the trunk so im going back tomorow morning with my tarurs :wink: anyways heres some pics enjoy!

just picked up the trans today, i had to go into work today i quit my subway job and now work at canadian tire doing drive cleans because i got my certificate a couple weeks agoso i thought id apply, and i got the job, so i quit subway for better pay and better hours, sorry i dont have any pics today

picked up clevite bearings and arp main studs from bing last night. btw bing my gf thought ur kids were adorable :slight_smile:

crank couldnt be just polished, have to get it ground next friday, also picking up eagle rods cp pistons and alc bearings!!

UPDATE!!
got my crank back today, drove out to vaughn to get it, got it ground and polished for 100 bucks, looks good, have to get alc .25 oversize bearings, also when i get back from vacation on the 19th im picking up cp pistons, eagle rods, BC cams 264 both, bc valves springs and ti retainers!, will update when i get those!, got the work done at canadian chrome plating and cranks. btw

bearing were to small because i got the crank machined, so i have to buy other bearings :confused: acl :smiley:
