Hey, I have a s14 blacktop with VCT, I’m aware of the sprocket noise but I have a tick only at idle, once the idle is raised or while driving it goes away, it is a loud tick but goes away when it’s not idling.
Has anyone run into this problem and motor runs strong not effecting power

Air in the hydraulic lifters perhaps bro, usually can be caused from getting air in them. You’d have to bleed them if that were the case or replace. Have you always had this issue?
I just bought the car, it just makes noise at idle, no other time do I don’t think it’s VCT, how would I go about bleeding the lifters, if I have to take thm out then I rather just rip the head off do an intake and head gasket and rebuild the head
