Ok so there is this faint ticking noise that im hearing only when the s13 blk top is cold which goes away after some driving time. I just got an oil change and yet it still remains. What could it be… hopefully not serious! Also, i just change my alt belt and it still squeelz like a bitch when cold… any help is appreciated, thanks
It could very well be your valve ticking…i say this because you said it goes away when the car warms up…metal expands when heated so if there is a gap between the valve and the lifter …when it warms up, the gap decreases/becomes eliminated therefore getting rid of the tick…get it checked out…i ain’t no mechanic but that sounds reasonable to me
sounds like you’re talking about sr lifter noise too. don’t think it’d be the metal heating up and closing the gap…moreso the oil warming up and filling the gaps better as it gets thinner and closer to operating temps.
check your alt pulley for glazing if your belt’s not already worn.
