s14 rb swap info...

so ive done my share of research and found theres alot of conflicting info on this swap? Id like some info for members that have done the swap what are the basics to drop the motor in and what aftermarket backing can i use??? I think rb25 vs rb20…

Just any well informed input would be great!!!

Honestly… is there even a member running rb20 in an s14?

Just put a damned SR in there. Way easier. Cheaper in the long run.

Had a 25 and a 26. But never had an Rb20 in any S14. Its a basic swap and you will need motor mounts as you cannot use the R32 or R33 cross members. Then you will need a Koyo rad and electric fans, side mount intake, and a front mount intercooler kit.
If your spending the money to rb an S14 why would you cheap out and get the rb20.

using the r32 x-member, you have to get an aftermarket turbo elbow to clear the steering column with an rb20 anyways. all i can remember for right now.

how much does this swap run, said and done!

$2000 with everything most likely? Providing you use OEM clutch and stuff. Pay heatW to do your wiring though, he’s a legitamate guy and can bang harnesses off like its nothing.

2000gs including the other 2,000$ for the engine/trans and such itself? hmmmm time to find me a mint s14 i think!

No, engines and tranny (rb20) can be had for $1500 with ecu

Pretty sure Riyad still has one instock. He did an amazing job on my car!

All you need

  1. RB series engine. I suggest Rb25 for s14’s. OR an Rb26 with the rb25 tranny- 1500-4000
    2)240 to RB mounts-400

    3)Wiring from HeatW- 200
  2. Plumming and hoses and rad- 600
  3. Front mount intercooler-200

^^ so according to you $5400 will get me a rb26 into an s14??..i beg to differ

Maybe you paid 10 000 for your swap but some were smart enough to do most of the work themslves. Just look at farmer. He has done 2 S13 rb26 swaps.

^^lol

ok bud…then let this thread be a lesson for all those who spend $4000-5000 for an SR swap…since for an extra $400 you can get a RB26 powered 240

DO IT GUYS!

yea it cost me 4 to put an rb20 in plus about 2 in supporting mods afterwords

Why are you getting defensive. Im just saying prices are not etched in stone. Like I said just because you guys payed 10000 dosent mean everyone else has to go down the same path. 4000-5000 for an sr swap is good but I just helped a friend put an sr in his car and he basiclly just paid for the engine(2000) and got some friends to help swap it in.
But I will tell him to burn another 2000-3000 on his already done SR swap since you said it dosent count unless you spend 4000-5000.

Now lets get back to the topic at hand. An Rb swap in an S14.
