I see

porno red is a beautiful thing

the 2002 is by far the best year of the AP1 with alot of refinements dont really seem how anyone could claim its not as good as the AP2

Holy red interior!

Porno Red FTW!

wow… that is red…

the door binger should automaticly go “bouwchica wowow, bouwchica wowow, bouwchica wowwow”

And it would have been faster and handle better not to mention it has something called torque.

And if i wanted a corvette i would’ve bought one

cuz it has an f20

and would have been gayer too

cuz it has an f20

and would have been gayer too :finger:

doubt a vette will out handle a s2k

in the end, the vette will probably lap better than an s2k… but i dont have any kinda proof, just exprience

YEAH im not talking about the price, im talking about the mileage. However maybe youre right? Send me a link to several s2000’s for 16k with 30k mileage

umm just go on autotrader type in S2000 and then hit search

i would say depends on the track layout

Nice car, my nieces would love it. Does it come with a extra battery ?

x2

:bigok: aww shit dog when we goin to switch cars for a lil right hahaha

sorry i didnt see this thread earlier… i could have told you everything to look out for in sub 16k s2000s. im sure ull love the car tho… and they are not bad in the snow… any sports car sucks with normal tires. i have 4 snows on now and its just as capable as my dads explorer in anything under 10 inches and stops faster too (id know, im currently living in minnesota). i just finished towing a 5x8 uhaul trailer with it from philly to minneapolis last weekend and hit 12+ inches of snow in mauston WI. the car towed thru it fine up until about 7 inches of unplowed snow on the road at which point we pulled off and waited it out.

Things to note about AP1’s

-The diff sucks, they are expensive, and some have been known to break them under 30k miles if abused. mines taking alot of autoX abuse so hopefully it lasts. im at 61k and it seems fine now.

-Most AP1’s (esp. 00, 01 cars) get clutch buzz on deceleration around 3k rpm. its harmless, but annoying, and the revised honda clutch fixes it. its from gear backlash vibrating the clutch springs

-00/01 plastic windows get cloudy often, can be cleaned with PlastX, and will crack if u lower the top below 35 degrees air temp.

-the shifter dances around alot when u drive, no biggie

-if ur car bogs, whack ur map sensor

-the speakers suck in the early cars.

-launching the car is hard cuz u have no torque. ive found for mine, generally stock with an exhaust and k&n filter, i have to launch from around 7k to not bog. the theory is to spin thru any non vtec and hookup right around vtec enagement. the downside is taht this is really hard on ur diff (and clutch too). the diff is most damaged from shock or impact loading, so what i do (and alot others) is either a steady semi slow release of the clutch… or rev up, and let it out a little to get the gears tensioned and then let it out fast. u just dont want the drive train relaxed and the dump the clutch. that makes all the gears slap. to save ur clutch, release it fast enough that ur not slipping it for long. itll only take a split second to to glaze it over at 7k rpm. if this happens, u got alteast a week or so of driving to wear off the glazed layer. after about 5 launches autoXing i can feel that the clutch stops grabbing as well as it did early in the day.

-theres also a clunk when u stop at a light or stop sign, and then shift to first to go again. all the gears are against the decel side of the teeth when u coast in. when u put it in gear again the spinning shaft/syncro make every thing clunk when it engages to the other side of the gear teeth. u wont hear if it u push the clutch in for 3-4 sec before u shift to first.

-tranny is noisy as hell since its right by ur right leg. thats why u hear the clutch buzz.

  • if u get good tires (Rcomps) u need a front sway. otherwise ull get wheel lift in which case ur LSD does nothing and u get wheel spin.

  • wind noise from the closed top can be be caused by a bad seal (crack ur window and pull down on it to see if it gets quiter). to fix this, get the hardtop strikers. they seal up the top tighter.

thats all i can think of for now… theres much much more, but all in all theres way more good than bad. ull enjoy the car.

how is that possible? mine wont spin easy at all if atleast one wheel is on pavement? dont u have an LSD?

thanks alot for all the input i actually purchased a 2002 AP1 and decided it wasnt for me actually traded it in today on a brand new 2007 that i love thanks alot
