Scenic train rides?

Has anyone done any scenic train rides? I see we have a decent amount around but I’m not sure what one would be decent. Attica is pretty lame. I’m looking for something that’s a day long. Not a 45 min ride.
Do they have one over Letchworth?

No but at first glance I read the title as SATANIC train rides and was very interested. lol

My spelling and grammar is so bad I give auto correct a run for its money. I wouldn’t be surprised.

There’s one up in Old Forge that I vaguely remember taking as a little kid. I’m talking knee high to a duck little. Pretty sure there was a fake train robber and everything.

Unfortunately, you just missed the Erie Limited between Buffalo and Corning, New York: https://www.showclix.com/event/ErieLimited9108508 That one was a special trip.

As you mentioned, there is the Attica and Arcade RR: http://www.arcadeandatticarr.com/

If you are willing to travel to Utica, there is the Adirondack Scenic RR, which is the one that goes up to Old Forge. They do special trains too at times, including a wine/beer tasting train: http://www.adirondackrr.com/

Occasionally the Rochester and Genesee Valley Railroad Museum will do special train on the LA&L line. Nothing great or long, but decent ride: http://www.rgvrrm.org/

Steamtown in Scranton, PA does a bunch as well, but a little far. http://www.nps.gov/stea/index.htm

If you google, look for “Rare Mileage” trips, as those are usually special trips organized over freight railroad lines that don’t normally see passenger service.
