haha if your under 25, its still TT
im 17 lol, but it wont be under my insurance it would be under my dads
i dunno, check it out
Start with an SL then. Or 1991-96 base because they still have the DOHC 222hp motor. You’ll love it. The Twin Turbo can be had later when its more affordable and you have more experience.
well with the plan im on, its like 400 a year for my 01 grand prix and like 350 a year for my trans am, full coverage, theft and all that stuff. i figure it should probably be close to the trans am right?
Wait your grandprix coverage cost is more than your TA?
SL’s are great for a good looking fun car but dont compare at all to VR4’s . The only other thing close is to supercharge your DOHC which makes a decent amount of power without building internals
well the trans am is a 95… yeah its more expensive for the gp lol
Also PM me if interested i have a 93 stealth base model for sale for $1200 if interested
Insurance is all in what you want out of it. Full coverage on a 91 is not worth it at all. They are everywhere… and parts are relatively cheap as far as sheet metal goes. They are also VERY safe vehicles. Airbags, disc brakes, ABS, etc.
Don’t turbo a non-turbo. Buy a turbo motor, throw some 16 or 18Gs on there and tear shit up.
lol don’t worry guys, i’m well aware that i’m in no financial situation to play around with modding a car like that. it’s going to be driven, parked, cleaned and maintained just as well as any other car, i don’t see any need to race people, especially since this is going to take premium…i like seeing money in my bank account lol.
theres burnt orange base model 91-93… on transit road at this place called corey auto sales, its got 110k, rims on it and exhaust everything else looked stock. its a real sharp looking car. it came in a few weeks ago. may be worth it to check out, however the people there are pretty retarded he told me it was a VR4 when i asked and i looked under the car and no driveshaft :squint:
they always have 3kgt’s i used to live 2 streets behind there, but just a lil fyi… I looked at a vr4 there 2 yrs ago, it was very easy to tell the front clip had been repainted, when i had asked why he said “it was white and they couldnt sell it, it wasnt flashy enough. So we painted the enitre car” I PASSED…
yea that place ALWAYS has 3000gt’s on the lot… they must try to entice the kids from depew hs into buying them
If they have a good deal im not saying not to buy it, but look it over very good, and do a carfax before you sign anything
The guy on the corner of genessee and transit has had quite a few as well.
I personally like the cars, I have talked to a few people with them. They have never told me of any major issue while they had them. VR4 on insurance, its cheaper then a normal car. Thats what I have found out with State Farm and my GVR4. Like any car, a modded one is needy.
If its a reasonable price and in great shape, Pick it up.
From what I heard both of those guys buy their inventory from adesa auctions so probably a good percentage of their autos have/had issues.
So no one has any decent advice about the reliability or real world gas mileage or cost of maintanence but everyone has an opinion about the weight, or looks or how it compares to the vr4 or 300zx or exotics.
but everyone keeps chiming in (including myself)…
just checking.
ANSWER THE QUESTION YOUR ASKED, or if you have nothing he needs to know, don’t clutter up every thread on this site.
I just don’t get what is so hard about reading as well as only saying something when it is pertenant and usefull.
i’m pretty sure i’ve offered my decent advice…
