you keep saying it wouldn’t fix that scenario and I agree. Do you really think the next one will be the same as the last? You can’t cherry pick laws to fix this from happening, but you can have a common sense baseline. the way it is today any illegal or terrorist could easily buy guns with no ID or anything and go on to do anything. Even this won’t stop that, but lets not hand out the guns with nothing when we can do better.
I don’t want to live in a society where I have to own a gun just so you can have a hobby.
A reduction to 0 guns isn’t a realistic expectation so that line of basic logic is equally flawed.
What gun advocates seem to be suggesting is that by reducing the # of guns you are not assuring fewer gun related deaths or violent massacres. To suggest otherwise is overly interpretive logic.
This. The probability in terms of # of shootings would most likely decline (not guaranteed)…it’s even less certain the # of deaths would decline.
Like shooting fish in a barrel.
We are supposed to be free, but not free from judgement I suppose.
I like your posts, this one not so much. You’re comparing GIVING a group of people freedom in the above when we’re fighting against people TAKING our freedoms.
Keep in mind I’m for some regulation, some limitation and VERY for safe keeping and education as the best way to get to the core of the issue.
this mass shooting is the catalyst. If you consider the real problem is the 10,000 or so gun deaths in America per year you could even say the mass shootings are statistically insignificant. The first step to any control mechanism is data and understanding, I want to solve the macro problem. Tracking guns will greatly help with this.
how will a registration keep criminals from using guns??? they won’t register it anyways, and when they sell it they won’t require the next guy does either. It just gives the government a list of people who are following the law.
When I bought my gun at a gun show I had to have some kind of background check done over the phone, but they didn’t ask what kind of gun I was buying. It could have been a shotgun, or an ar-15. I’d rather they not know, because when they do decide that no one should be able to own a gun, they would have a list of people to take them away from.
Guys, you cannot argue with people like bing and theblue using common sense and logic. All they know is what the news tells them, and won’t change their mind.
That being said,
What do you think is different with the “Evil AR15” than any other semi-auto rifle? Because it “Looks” more evil? because it’s black, and not a wood stock? Because it “Looks” Like a modern “Military” gun? What makes it “not a hunting gun”? Even the socialist in chief said yesterday “military style” Rifles, basically saying anything that looks like an AR. What makes this gun so much more dangerous than any other rifle? Really, I would like to know…
There is NO DIFFERENCE IN FUNCTIONALITY with that rifle, and any other. Only the way it looks.
LZ and JT76 need to stop over for a couple drinks.
i would bet that if you HAD to amend gun control laws to address these situations that what you would come up with would be pretty much the same as what i would and aaron too.
