School Shooting in CT

while I don’t agree with banning ARs, etc. I do see the logic in saying ban them because if you were to select a weapon for killing a lot of people with the most ease that you can buy without breaking the law then they are the best way to go really.

Again banning weapons based on outliers…

When it takes the cops 10+ min to respond and your shooting at people who are not shooting back he could have used a pump shotgun or any firearm.

90whatever percent of murders with firearms are with HANDGUNS

Looking at the fucking national states for rifle deaths its at the same level as drowning in a bathtub or falling out of bed and dying.

Some states are trying to ban .50 cal rifles now yet nobody can seem to produce any stories of murders being carried out with one

There is a giant disconnect between perception of risk and reality created by the media spreading false information around trying to scare white people lol

For the recrod i wouldn’t be in favour of an all out ban but they have to do something… at the very least the crime rate wouldnt drop and it would prove that the ban is ineffective.

In the US “ineffective” means “not regulated enough”. This is my fear of gun guys giving an inch, eventually the government will try to take all 40 acres and the mule.

There really isn’t anything you can do from a firearm control perspective to stop crazy people from killing people.

If you’re trying to curve gun violence in general with out touching on economic and social factors ramp up laws for crimes committed with guns.

The US is fucked up DHS puts out alerts for large public events like football games and other sporting events so they now search you entering the games and have a huge police presence…Yet putting security at schools is a big taboo.

Crazy people shooting up a mall is not different then some religious radical crashing a plane into a building its all forms of terrorism.

Ted Nugent’s open letter to Biden was impressive, reasonable and well thought out.

You guys miss the point with the assault weapons hate. These high visibility mass shootings that trigger legislation (even though stasticially they are insignificant) are typically done by beta-males living out some sort of twisted fantasy about dieing in a blaze of glory in one last stand against a society that they believe they have lived their whole lives as a victim of. The cops thought the Aurora shooter was part of the swat team he had so much body armor on. They only noticed him because he was just standing around.

I agree it’s a pretty feeble attempt, but banning guns because of their image is at least logical if you accept that they are used because of their image. Sure you can get someone just as dead with a shotgun or tree branch, but one of these guys looking to die screaming “I’m not your victim anymore” isn’t going to use something that doesn’t fit the fantasy.

OK, back to your poorly thought out arguments on both sides…

I still say Walter E Williams had it correct, just tell me where the line is and I will move all of my shit to the appropriate side.

Imagine if Alex Jones or any other gun rights person said something like this…

https://youtu.be/tRJ0ls_W9XM

Let’s say I have this cake. It is a very nice cake, with “GUN RIGHTS” written across the top in lovely floral icing. I received it from the 2nd amendment and the Dick act of 1902.

Along you come and say, “Give me that cake.” I say, “No, it’s my cake.” You say, “Let’s compromise. Give me half.” I respond by asking what I get out of this compromise, and you reply that I get to keep half of my cake.

Okay, we compromise. Let us call this compromise The National Firearms Act of 1934.

There I am with my half of the cake, and you walk back up and say, “Give me that cake.”

I say, “No, it’s my cake.”

You say, “Let’s compromise.” What do I get out of this compromise? Why, I get to keep half of what’s left of the cake I already own.

So, we have your compromise – let us call this one the Gun Control Act of 1968 – and I’m left holding what is now just a quarter of my cake.

And I’m sitting in the corner with my quarter piece of cake, and here you come again. You want my cake. Again.

You say, “Let’s compromise once more.” What do I get out of this compromise? I get to keep one eighth of what’s left of the cake I already own?

So, we have your compromise – let us call this one the Machine gun ban of 1986 – and I’m left holding what is now just an eighth of my cake.

I sit back in the corner with just my eighth of cake that I once owned outright and completely, I glance up and here you come once more.

You say nothing and just grab my cake; This time you take several bites – we’ll call this compromise the Clinton Executive Orders – and I’m left with about a tenth of what has always been MY DAMN CAKE and you’ve got nine-tenths of it.

Then we compromised with the Lautenberg Act (nibble, nibble), the HUD/Smith and Wesson agreement (nibble, nibble), the Brady Law (NOM NOM NOM), the School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act (sweet tap-dancing Freyja, my finger!)

I’m left holding crumbs of what was once a large and satisfying cake, and you’re standing there with most of MY CAKE, making anime eyes and whining about being “reasonable”, and wondering “why we won’t compromise”.

read this on a buddies’ facebook…

Snip…

“Gun rights advocates argue that Mr. Cuomo is wrong to focus his attention on assault weapons; of 769 homicides in New York State in 2011, only five were committed with rifles of any kind, according to the State Division of Criminal Justice Services.”

Between the gun control snippet and the part about wanting to put casinos in Upstate NY I don’t know how anyone can take that man seriously. Especially considering he’s all buddy buddy with Sheldon Silver who is the runner up for NY’s biggest douchebag award.

you guys had better buy up any ammo you can find now, you won’t find any in the coming few days

If you’re scared I can sell you 1000rds for $1.50rd

I picked up some for alot less than that but price is way up and it is hard to find any decent quanity.
I was on some websites that are not even accepting new orders, how absurd is that??

Because they don’t have it in stock durrrr

I have been saying this over and over go on AR15.com forum subscribe to the instock ammo thread on the AR15/Ammo subforum

yeah no shit no one has it in stock in quanity or for a reasonable price IE there are no 500/1000rd lots for sale, however if you want to buy a box of 20 high quality rounds for $25-$35 a box you can
and when I said “no new orders” that wasn’t just for .223 ammo that was for their entire webstore

I like how they think ending online ammo sales will change anything… like it’s so hard to call up Beikirch’s, order some ammo, and drive 30 miles to pick it up when it shows up… that is only mildly harder than clicking buy.

Asinine laws by people that have never used the system they are trying to regulate.

but am I right? If not, name a better weapon (that’s legal) and why it would be a better pick for going on a mass shooting.
