bought a 2gb sd card for my phone, was putting music on it and its maxing out at 500 megs, how can i correct this, i want the 2gigs i paid for.

Did you try to reformat the card? If so, what does it say for free space in Windows?
Windows says it has 2gb of space, I am dragging and dropping into the folder.

any device that uses a memory card can reformat it.
what kind of phone is this? are you sure its the proper format for your phone? (ie. FAT32)

it is a LG Shine, Micro Sd card.
I cant find it in the menus to do it on the phone
If its verizon it should be in a similar place of other phones.
Check Settings>Memory>Card Memory and then there might be an options tab at the bottom to format the card.
On my Samsung its Menu>Settings and Tools>Memory>Card Memory and in that menu I press the right top button and a submenu pops up with FORMAT CARD on it.
Its AT&T, I looked in that area and there is no option for Format card.
Maybe im just retarded, how do I reformat it at home on my computer when i get there. Im at work right now.

check your manual or google for the pdf. any device that uses external memory has a way to format it so it can use it.

I go settings, memory
Memory card, it shows me how much space there is available and taken up and, I cant do anything else
went ahead and did that and deleted everything on the memory card, I will attempt to reload it tonight with all the 2gb of space.

Came home, went to put data on it, and it will only hold 591mb.
computer reads 2gb. as did my phone
