Sedan choice....Acura TSX vs. G35x

K24A2 ftw!!! get that and then get K-pro and you will have a mother fucking blast! if you have any question about the engine on it let me know, i know more then my fair share of k series shit…

the tsx is tits, but this is goingto be a daily pimp ride, not a race car, its all about sittin in style awd and auto is the way to go

Okay. I’ve eliminated the G35x due to the fact its an auto. But there is a new contestant. 2002 altima 3.5 SE 5 speed manual. Not sure which way to go. The Nissan has way more power and torque, but the gas mileage will be a lot worse than the TSX. also the altima is thousands less in price. The TSX is more classy but the altima is almost a full second faster in the quater mile.

the acura is classy… until you get in it.

get the nissan… it’s cheaper and will be more enjoyable… i was impressed with a co-workers nissan altima

although the TSX is more expensive and may stop you from ripping it apart…

I like the new Altima…they are nice and I hear they run decent for a NA V-6. Prob just as fast as a 99-04 stang GT. I would also consider the maxima…you can get a low mileage one for about $20K. Just a thought

Last I checked there is no K-pro available for a TSX, only like a $500 reflash that coupled with headers and intake will net around 25hp. But the TSX is defintely put together nice.

Skip the 05 TSX and find a used 04 TL 6 speed. Oh wait, that’s my plan.
The couple grand difference in used prices is not much when spread out over 4-5 years, or the 2-3 months you’ll actually own the car :bigthumb:

Just on the car alone, I’d pick the G35. Much better driver than the Acura. If you can forgo the AWD, you can get the G35 with a six-speed as well.

However, the Acura interior has a much better layout than the Infiniti and has better plastics on the dash.

I’d still take the Inifiniti.

kpro works for the tsx they swap them all the time into my chassi and use kpro to work it

I know it can and has been done for some time in other chassis but I don’t think it is being done with an actual TSX ecu as a base.

From what I’ve read the TSX ecu controls more than just the basic engine functions in the TSX chassis. Check the hondata site, only a reflash is offered for the TSX, no k-pro listed. Also, the 05/06 RSX’s are not K-pro compatible either, as is the new SI’s. Throttle-by-wire as well as new approaches to engine management seem to be holding up the development for those applications.

Just something to think about if planning to potentially mod the new sedan.

the tsx is not kpro capable same with my si you can only buy the 500 reflash just like mine

I was in the same debate Kolar, I went and looked at TSX’s and TL’s. The TSX is a very nice car but kind of small. I was debating between the IS250 AWD and the TL. Now im debating between the IS250 and the 07 G35 Sedan AWD. They changed the G35’s for 2007, they are so pimp. No manuals in either of the cars either…

TSX all the way

DING! DING! DING! http://forums.clubsi.com/images/graemlins/default/laugh.gif

IF you want something with baller status, save up the extra cash and get a TL.

If you aren’t worried about bling, how about a 05 Subaru Legacy GT? It has the same 2.5 motor as the Impreza STi (slightly smaller turbo though). There’s a guy on another webboard who’s running high 13’s in the 1/4 with just exhaust, and his car is an AUTO. A stick would be even quicker. I’ve seen a few in the $17-18k price range. They’re really good looking cars too… better looking than a TSX IMHO. All these things plus the fact that it’s AWD = BIG, FRESH STEAMING PILE OF WIN. http://forums.clubsi.com/images/graemlins/default/woot.gif

i like the Legacy GT idea now

I personally dont like the TL’s. I hate that huge body line they put in them. Plus the v6 is too tough on gas i decided. So I’m pretty much leaning towards the TSX.

Bleh, not a subaru fan at all. And I’m not even the slightest bit worried about 1/4 mile times.

id go g35 ! much nicer car all the way around. alot smoother ride and more pimp. The tsx is small and has no power but looks nice. I was debating the same group of cars for the next choice. But now the 3 series bmw has a hard top convertable its looking really tempting. The 2 door g35 has a fold down rear seat so it will have decent storage if thats what u need. both cars are a dime a dozen though. Looking on some sites the reliability of the g35 is excellent.

The TL is not “baller” status…, if I were a “baller” the TL would be the last car I would buy. They are really really nice cars, but… ur setting the bar kinda high.

Baller on a budget??haha but all of those cars seem like nice choices though. From the original choices i would’ve to go with the g35. A little more room, more power and IMO just a tad bit nicer. Either way though you’ll have a nice ride.

LOL. Seriously. When is the last time you saw an Acura TL on an episode of cribs.

I’d take a g35 sedan manual (AWD or not)…over all the stuff listed TL, TSX, Altima/Maxima, BMW 3, lex IS, Suby, etc…

your probably not intersted cause of gas milage, but…
infiniti M’s are hot too…but the new ones are pricy & you’d want the 45 insted of the 35 so that means$$$$$…the older Ms are nice too & you don’t see them all over the place. but i don’ think they came in a stick…but they are still quick cause the got the Q45 motor wedged in it.
doing a quick auto trader search for local ones…there are a few 2003’s in the high teens with 30-40K miles.
if don’t mind the automatic & its going to be a straight crusier, they are PIMP
