So me and educated_idiot…who is a total dumbass…can’t get the 5 spd tranny to bypass that last inch of space needed to totally free it and take it out - any thoughts??? I’m sure its a simple anwser to a dumb question but we were honestly pulling on this thing an it was pivoting but just not coming loose

i shook on a tranny trying to get it loose for 30 minutes one time…it would move a bit and pivot…then i realized their was still one bolt left in…dont make the same mistake i did
Sounds painful.
When in doubt, whip it out.
loosen motor mounts and jack up the front of the engine.
Pull harder
loosen the motor mounts cause there most likely rusted out.spray some pb blaster and it should come out…
I had to drop my tranny by myself. Put an old sofa cushion under the bell housing, took a pry bar, and used the metal flat part on the edge of the engine to pry the sucker out. Dropped without a sound or any damage onto the cushion, end of story.
Jack up the front end of the motor, it’ll give you enough room to slide the tranny out.
You can also undo the 4 cross member bolts and lower the crossmember w/ motor, down just that little bit and the tranny should slide right out.
+1 for lowering subframe
Try it sober… Works for me when it comes to pretty much everything.
