Nope. The car is deregistered personal property.
You now take those documents and the federal form 1 ( recieved after customs inspection) and register the car in your province.
The transfer of ownership is the bill of sale and the export certificate.
They will only give you a temp. As you need a out of province inspection, etest and Insurance.
Your insurance need to add your 11-digit vin to the exemption table / list
So the ministry of transport can complete the registration and issue a validation sticker.
This is so our vehicle is added to all systems without the short vin being dismissed as an error.
Hmmm where do I do the out of province inspection in Ontario after bring it back. I am not sure about the 11 digit vin exemption you just mentioned I don’t have one mine is a short vin
If it being Ontario registered a certified mechanic has to inspect it.
A federal inspection - at the docks by customs - form 1
A provincial inspection - in Ontario - for a vehicle coming into Ontario from outside the province
Called " out of province" inspection.
It’s just like a safety but more in-depth
As they need to check glass tires lights etc for dot cert.
Most are fine in Ontario.

The standard vin is 17 a Jdm is 11 so your short vin , until entered into a special exemption list,
It won’t be accepted for a validation sticker. And you’ll be pulled over by every cop who runs your plate
Because it won’t be attached correctly In the system
oh ok sounds good, i think i am good on the inspection, my close friend is a certified mechanic. before customs - form 1 there is the RIV fees or is that after the out of province inspection?
I found Transport company, they’re charging $581 to transport to the car to Brampton. still working on the Brokerage I wanna find a cheap one, which one do you use?

I know why it was different.
In 2010 I shipped via train. This year they quoted me the truck price.
1500.00 is the truck price abr quoted
1175.00 is the train price.
That’s about what I was quoted by livingston last time.
So my Japan to bc should be under 100,000 yen
And my bc to ont is 1175.00
2175.00
June 20 - July 2/4 at sea
7 days of clearance
July 9th-11th pick up
2-3 day for loading
10-12 days via train
In Ontario by July 26th about 35 in transit.
so i did some checking on ABR trasport and you’re right they’re not reliable, so got a quote from livingston
Vehicle Description: Mazda RX7
Option# 1: Terminal to Terminal: Halifax - Vaughan $808.92
Option# 2: Door to Door: Halifax – Brampton $1,032.70
Now I have a question, assuming I pick option 2, will they take car of all the paper work for me if or do I have to hire a customs broker for that? and if not do you know any good broker I use.
You can use them to do your paperwork to its pricey look around
Door to door is what you want. Other wise some has to bring your car from the dock to the trains yard
