If there’s already a thread for this, link me too it, I searched and didnt find anything. Im just wondering who has shipped a motor, in my case a 4 cylinder shortblock, how much did it cost? What company did you use? How did you pack it? ectf

you have to ship it freight on a pallet

what I would do is gank one of those small pallets… from work, wrap it with clear wrap… from work… and find a place near work that will ship it. search freight shipping albany ny

I did freight quotes on fed ex and ups and they are several hundred dollars. It can’t be sent ground? The box that kid used to ship my turbo parts in was pretty big.

greyhound ground. yeah the buss people. call them they are about the cheapest for shipping large-ish shit.

or its freight. pallet, steel banding and shrink wrap, slap label on and fork it away. $250 or so. A bit cheaper if you package it and bring it to a freight depot yourself.

I think the max a UPS or Fed Ex delivery guy has to be able to pick up is 100 lbs. And they don’t carry pallet jacks on the trucks, so unless USPS could you’d have to do freight on a pallet. I know greyhound ships…

Greyhound is very cheap… only thing is they have a weight limit of 100 pounds.

not only with the brown chode not pick it up, they dont have a lift gate so a pallet jack wouldn’t help much more than bringing it to the back of the truck.

they WILL however UPS FedEx it to a depot… where you would drop it off and the customer would pick it up to receive it.

you can see if it fits in that plastic container and send that… might have to bring it to that big fed ex place on broadway

FedEx and UPS max weight without shipping it freight service is 150lbs.
