Shipping Help Please

The guy who is buying the 300zx might not be able to get a truck to come pick it up so shipping the car is no biggie…but the spare engine isn’t in the budget. Does anyone have a hookup for a large item like this. Time is not a problem so if it takes a month to get there…cool. It would be going to Kentucky and I can easily bring it to a shipping station.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks

Put the spare engine in the trunk of the car. I forgot if the Z has a decent sized trunk or not.

lol you don’t know how much room the z engine takes up do ya  that wouldn’t fit so well in the trunk!

My buddy has been through like 3 Z engines and for some reason I was totally oblivious to remember how big that 6 cyl truly was.

Most car moving companies will not allow you to pack the car full of shit when you ship it.

The one I used wanted 1/4 tank of gas, and an empty truck.

It will have to go freight dude. freightquote.com is how to do it.

Strap it to a pallet, and ship it hub to hub.

Agreed…I’m gonna guess about $200-250 to ship it to KY. I had shipped 180lbs. of Taurus SHO autmoatic transmission to North Dakota for $175…and shipped my snowmobile with some other gear (750lbs.) from Minnesota to Buffalo for $330. Definitely go terminal to terminal as that severely cuts down on costs. I too used freightquote.com for the best deal…

I was just curious if anyone worked at a CCX or Old Dominion type place and could get it on a truck if it showed up on the dock strapped to a pallet.

IF you build a simple pallet, UPS Freight or FedEx could handle it. ACtually, I think if you go to the UPS main depot on Bailey, they might be able to crate that for you (for $$$), but I’m not sure.
