shocks for lowered rides

what is a good shock for a lowered truck that is 3/4 and i still want to be able to ride as stock maybe stiffer and still hold up to the weight of hauling somethings and also when at the track. i was thinking of elderbrock IAS shocks. this is for my dropped silverado

thanks

I’d go for Belltech Nitro-Active shocks. They are my personal preference, they are whatn I’ve run on my old Bravada and my new blazer, old was dropped 3/3 and this one is dropped 4/5 and they road relatively well both times…

i went with the elderbrocks only bad thing is they only had 2/4 so i guess that would be as bad as the stockers. front is ok but my stock rears hit hard all the time.

Edelbrock IAS are nice shocks, I just like the Belltech’s better for the price…

2/4 will be fine, its not an exact science… You should be pretty much good to go.

does the truck bottom out at all? now i hit the rear stops like crazy

yea it was like 290 for all 4

can’t speak for trucks, but I’m a bilstein fan for cars.

My truck doesn’t bottom out in the back at all… but then again I’m only 4" in the back. It doesn’t bottom out much in the front, every so often over a really heavy bump… They are a short shock and they are pretty stiff, but the ride quality isn’t horrible for a static dropped truck…

I payed like $178 or something for my 4 shocks.

Blue - Bilstein are nice shocks, but I’m not sure they make them for lowered trucks… I’m not positive, but I dont think they do… If they did I’d be interested in how they ride though, thats for sure.

yea im 4 in the rear and i hit axle against stops hard

quit hauling around those fat chicks. :booty:

lmao, i forgot you were in the bed the whole time

Did you cut down the bumpstops in the back? If you cut them down like halfway that will give you alot more clearance and maybe stop the sound of the axle smashing intothem.

Koni > Bilstein > *

But for trucks some of my friends have had good success w/ the IAS shocks, though not lowered as much as you.

im using hte protene bump stops with the kit. its only about 3/4 thick. its solid polyutherene or whatever it is

just get the bell techs, there made for lowered trucks.

1999-04 1500, lowered 2" x 4" 33023-34023 - - - - - direct from edelbrock site

Edelbrock>bell-tech

yep what i got…should be in within hte next few days

i had my s10 lowered 3/4, i used toxic shocks from stylinconcepts.com. they gave me no problems and were cheap

quik is not that good that he would ever notice the difference.
