you dont have a maf so technically you wouldnt have to worry about it. but i would prolly still block it off with a cap
Whats a maf?
Mass Air Flow sensor, it’s a sensor that is usually in the intake tube of a car and measures the air flow with a heated wire.
Ok thanks, I dont remember what happend to this…lol
Update: When the nut came loose it F-ed up the ID of the pulley. My buddy hooked me up and bored out the ID of the pulley just to true it up then made me a nut out of Hex stock. The nut pilots the ID of the pulley and the ID of the shaft of the alternator he also counter bored it so I can tighten it with out using a impact
Sounds like a Nice fix…Maybe
Hard to tell with it all put together…How does the pulley stop the Alt. shaft/Nut/Nut sleeve or whatnot from spinning again?
If the shaft and ID of the pulley were tapered then the compression from the nut would prevent it from ever spinining. But, I would guess there is no taper if your buddy just bored it out.
If the nut is not a locking nut could there still be the potential of the nut backing off under high RPMs?
Lastly, is there a key and keyway? Or is the only thing holding this in place the compression caused by the nut on the pulley itself?
I am just afraid it will fall off on you again and that would SUCK.
Sweet Car BTW
There’s no taper, Threads work by holding things together (compression). We made sure the nut wouldn’t bottom before it was tight. We also used medium lock tight. Think it will work but I’ll keep an eye on it!
Good move…You should be fine.
Can’t wait to see this finished.
So do I! Should be in Buffalo getting tuned Friday! But its far from finished…
Honda’s don’t have MAFs. They only have MAPs.
Thats what I thought… Thanks
no shit, i know this. he asked what a MAF was and i explained to him what it was.
why the AEM pulley anyway?
AEM = High performance
It came with the Alt.
nice build man
nice set up!
In for graphs
Nice! in for numbers and graph…GL dude!
Only a street tune, no numbers or graphs today
