-Bright Green Metallic Paint only 98 produced. often confused with Blue Green Chameleon

-Purchased with approx. 77k miles

I guess this has been a long time coming. There has not been much actually “BUILT” as far as this “Build Thread” is concerned but there has been a lot of little things taken care of since purchasing this vehicle 10/07 From a kind older fellow in Bradenton FL. I bought it based on internet photos. I didnt see the car until it was in my driveway a month later.

When I recieved my car via car carrier it was covered with lacquer orange and black pinstriping.

Removed Painted striping with lacquer thinner during the winter of 07/08. At this point I have never driven the car past my driveway.

Also during the spring was shaved side name plates as these were painted orange as well and all the paint came off as I rubbed them with lacquer.

Under the hood the mods are a high flow air box lid with a cotton gauze air filter. Porting of the throttle body and MAF sensor came shortly after.

CTS-V / ZO6 Oil Fill cap. Slightly more appealing then the black and yellow factory cap.

The car remained this way for the summer of 08 with the exception of EGR and AIR injection removed with block offs made from stainless steel plate I had laying around

Winter 09… Some engine bay clean up with passenger side wire tuck

Spring of 09: New wheels and tires. Gloss Black C6 ZO6 replicas 18x9.5 with General Exclaim UHP 275/35ZR18

Summer of 09 came the much anticipated T56 Tremec 6 speed trans swap. I am very thankful for my girl friend Cristie and her father Rich for their help as parts of this swap needed extra hands and opinons to accomplish.

Mods to date:

-Wheel and Tire upgrade
-Ported TB and MAF
-MTI Clear High Flow Lid and Green Filters cotton gauze replacement air filter
-Lower air box and radiator shroud modded for cold ram air
-F-Body partial wire tuck
-Removed EGR and AIR systems
-Rerouted PCV system for better oil and blowby control
-NGK TR6 plugs. - (engine would knock on hot days under load with auto trans)
-4L60E - T56 swap (used)
-Textrailia Twin Disc Street Clutch (used)
-New GM Master Cylinder and dill mod to restrictor
-Pro5.0 Billet Shifter and WS6 Store 6" short stick (used)
-Lokar Black Ball shift knob*
-01 factory CD head unit with USA Spec Ipod interface… Black Ipod Nano
-Kee Audio stage 2 speaker repacement package with dual voice coil 8" Bazooka Subs
-Power to fixed mast antenna mod with 8" shorty antenna
-Removed side badges
-Clear front turn signal and marker lights
-CETA rear bumper mod or “euro bumper” *AMD is the best LoL
-25% tint (came on car)

Coming soon:
-Shaved side moldings???
-Tinted tails, not black, tinted???
-Borla tunable cat back
-D&D T56 rebuild. Carbon syncros, brass fork pads, steel shift forks.

good for people with glass transmissions.

I was so excited to get it back together that I didnt take a pic of the clutch… I will get a shot when the trans is back out in another month…

It engages close to stock with a little less pedal travel and an extra push from behind when it decides it wants to be engaged. Pedal effort is a little harder than stock. I love it.

I had just bought the car for $7k sight unseen hoping there was a way to remove that pin striping and the “LS1” on the fenders, not to mention it said “Silky” on the trunk lid. I was very nervous rubbing it with lacquer thinner after I paid $800 to get it shipped home

So whats your thoughts on the auto to manual swap?

I had that done on my car and while I like having a manual it does make the car alot harder to drive, atleast in my case.

The guy said it was showroom condition and I figured if it was half of what he said it was then the car is worth 7k. Especially after selling my 99 Formula for 9.5k. I was not disappointed. Ever nut and bolt under the car were silver and shiny, no surface rust on anything!

I have some future appearance ideas… opinions please

-Shaved side moldings???
-Tinted tails, not black, tinted???
-Paint roof and mirrors gloss black to add to the CETA theme???
