I’ve been wanting to find an excuse to come down to ASS and hangout and today was the day. I realized my rear wheel bearing was SHOT on my hoopty and after pricing some chinese / german bearings I went to bap geon and picked me up a nice cheap bearing (yeah right).
I found out the bitch had to be pressed in and I had to remove the control arm and yada yada yada blah blah bullshittttttttt.
So I called up darryl at like 2pm and was like YO I NEEDA GET DIS BITCH IN HERRRRREEE. Of course he just told me to come down and the sooner the better, thats what I wanted to hear … I really didnt feel like sitting around and playing with myself.
So on my way down there I had a slight mechnical defect that set me back a few minutes late :rofl I guess one of my caliper bolts came out and hahaha locked up my wheel when i was doin 40 ish on western ave… WHATEVER thats lightweight i just jacked the bitch up and ripped out a spare bolt from the spare calipers i carry around… everyone carries spare calipers right…???
I finally made it to ASS and I swear to god I thought I was going to loose my wheel on the way down there… GOD DAMN.
The place looks awesome and I should of taken a pic but im sure there is some around the net somewhere, the whole property is spacious and clean… really cool.
They put the car on the lift and the guys started the work and it was cool cuz I got to watch and chill in the garage, i hate sitting in waiting areas… unless darryl gets a 60 " lcd with forza 4 then ill sit there all day LOL
Shit never works like it should with OLD ASS CARS so of course a mutha fuckin hella important nut was so stubborn it wouldnt come off the axle and it eventually stripped threads… inevitable with the age and condition of the axle/nut.
That was pretty shitty news and turned my day into instant poo… but luckily my home boy murrdog was there getting an alignment done and I was able to catch a ride with him back to colonie. The guys at ASS ordered me a new nut that will be there in the morning. They are also going to rethread the axle end so i don’t have to buy a new axle and make it work. Pretty cool.
I’ll touch back tomorrow after I pick the car up, but so far so good ! Shit happens sometimes and stripping / breaking of old nuts and bolts is to be expected, was kind of bummed I had to borrow a car yet again but it is what it is, my fault for not being prepared anyways.
The place is really clean and if you havent gone there yet, def check it out , its not far off the path of daily communion anyways

cliffs: brought the car to ASS for bearing replacement, old shit broke, they figured it out, gonna pick it up tomorrow.
DAY 2
Headed back over today without calling, just figured I’de show up…got a ride in with jammer and he needed some simple stuff done so I was down to wait if the car wasnt done.
We chilled out for a while, the nut came through and the guys started to work on the axle, they had the bearing pressed in and ready to go , the axle was being stubborn about going back into the hub but eventually it got sorted. The new nut was put back on the refinished axle threads and darryl fixed my temporary cob job for my rear springs on both sides (for free) by welding some heavy duty pipes in place which was more than good enough for what i needed.
We stood around talking alot of shit about this and that so ended up staying there a while and I hitched a ride in the buggy to grab some lunch, that was pretty cool
Basically in the end, darryl , harold, and yetti did some solid work and I appreciate the help for sure. The price for the job was more than fair and alot cheaper than if I had gone elsewhere, but i wouldnt ever go elsewhere because I don’t really trust anyone. I got a handful of discounts and freebies which wasnt necessary but very appreciated.
