That is a teeeeny Copter.

Made a few jumps the other day in San Diego, nothing spectacular but it was my first time jumping in 14 months.

Pretty neat to see the opening sequence.

Saw that! On a side note, top pic looks sweet lol. That’s gotta suck but I’m glad no one was seriously injured.

What’s it cost to jump once you get all the gear squared away

Depends.

If you obtained your A-licence (the first one) and you have your own gear it’s usually $20-$30 bucks per jump ticket. If you have your license and don’t have your own gear you pay for the jump ticket plus gear rental which is usually another $20-$30 bucks per jump depending on the DZ. Then if you don’t feel comfortable/lazy packing your own main its $5-7 bucks per pack job.

When I went to Cali a couple weeks ago I only did 4 jumps. 2 were on gear rental which was a bigger main (230) then made two jumps on Newmans gear which is a 150.

What’s it cost to get your a? And what’s the difference between b and c?

You need to pass AFF (I believe its 7 levels so 7 jumps) before moving on to working on tasks needed for your A-license. Minimum amount of jumps to get your A is 25, the 7 from AFF count towards it as well obviously.

Lima, Peru: A Peruvian air force NCO whose parachute malfunctioned during a training exercise survived a 1,500-meter (5,000-feet) fall with nary a broken bone.

“It’s a miracle he’s alive,” emergency room doctor Guillermo Pacheco said. “It was the will of God he survived.”

Amasifuen Gamarra, 31, underwent a battery of medical tests at the hospital in Arequipa, in southern Peru, Pacheco said, “and there weren’t any fractures.”

The doctor said Gamarra jumped from a military plane at 1,500 meters, but when he went to open his parachute, the webbing wrapped around his neck and he lost consciousness.

“We don’t know what cushioned his fall, but he’s alive. It’s a miracle,” the doctor repeated.

The sergeant, who served in the air force for eight years, was transferred to a military hospital for additional medical testing.

Guy is alright but damn…

  1. Who knew Mexico had paratroopers?
  2. Dizzy for life.
  3. Would also like to know how that ended.

Agreed, sad to see such an awesome guy go so soon.
