sleepy eyes

im wondering if any of u know how to make customy sleepy eyes? or whats the cheapest 1 out there to buy

i made mine with a $3 switch, very easy to do, but depends if you want a cheap way of doin it or the proper way of doin it

pull out the switch on your dash. top left. splice a switch into the green wire and there you go. about 1.99 for the switch and .99c for wire. cheap but can’t have your headlights on and have sleepy eyes.

u can if u discconect the motors…if yoru gunna have them, u have to commit…
me and aaron did!

Werd. I just disconnected the motors, and had to hand adjust the height all the friggin time. Now I have the pivot switch, which works pretty well, but they don’t allow you to have it sleepy with the headlights on, only disconnecting the motor will allow you to do that.

Shit yo, it’s been a long time now, like 5 years ago. lol.

Actually, it has been figured out how to make them be sleepy and on at the same time, without disconnecting the motors. You have to do what RS13 said and then cut a wire behind the fuse box. I did some research, as I am doing a bid of a headlight mod this winter. Click the link. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/575633/6

nice thank u i will try it tonight and tell u how it turns out

well i can get the headlights to stop half way but i didnt buy a dimmer switch yet and i got a question to turn the headlights on i only need to splice the 1 wire?? the doesnt really make sense there should be 2 wires that need to be spliced with the switch right?

you splice into the green wire (power) and you cut power where you want then to stop.

I believe it is only one wire that needs to be spliced, and put a switch where you splice it. That was my understanding anyway. I dont think anyone on here has done it yet.

here is exactly what i did

I don’t take credit for this…
I found it on some forum, I cut and paste
" sleepy eye mod for S13s…

w/o getting out of your car.

you need two things

1.) A wire/cable
2.) A toggle switch

both can be bought at Kragens, Auto Zone etc etc for no more than $5.00

anyways.

left of the steering wheel there is the headlight button that when pressed/on it makes the headlights pop up no matter if the lights are on or off.

pop out the button cover and you should see wires underneath it

take the Light Green wire and cut it.

then take the wire you bought and splice it to that wire and hook it up to the toggle switch
make sure you leave enough room for the wire so you can run it where you want. [ i have mine by my ash tray ]

now to test to see if you did it right.

turn the toggle switch OFF

and push the headlight button.

[ head lights should pop up [ if not already up ]]

now press it again [ if you did it right it will not go down ]

now flip the toggle and the headlights will start to go down.
before it goes all the way down flip the toggle agian and it will stay. "

this is what i did and it works good

^^ That is how you do it if you want the lights to be “sleepy” only with the lights off.

If you want them to be sleepy with the lights on you must go one step further and do the exact same thing with green wire behind the fuse panel. I have yet to see anyone in Edmonton do this. Lots of people, myself included have done it the way you just explained, but its pretty limited as the lights have to be off.

I’m confused…

The cardomain link says cut the brown wire and then other ppl are saying cut the green wire…

Which wire is it to cut?

I HAVE DONE THIS

you cut this the brown wire behind the headlight switch.

and put the botton back in

all you do is push the botton in turn ur head lights on and then turn them of
ur head lights will still be up because u pushed the button in

then u double click the button kinda like a mouse on a computer and each time it will go down a bit. the faster u double click the less it will move. just try it! ull know what i mean

just cut the brown wire behind the headlight button.

Awesome thanks…

Just double checking before I go and cut up some wires lol…hopefully this works…if not then my headlights are fugged

LOL I had one of these switches already in my car when I bought it, now how to use it

i cut the green wire and it works fine

i think on is the power in and the other is the power out so both will work

K so I did the brown wire cutting about 2 hours after I bought my car lol but what I want to nkow if I go the one step furthur and splis the silver and blue wire ( I beleve it was) and make the switch I will be able to have my lights on once its set but cxan I still have them all the way up do I hit the button by my steering wheel to adjsut height and the new switch is simply to turn the light on??
