I can’t take this much longer, I work at a dealership and in the summer I can handle myself with all the bay doors and such being open. Now its getting cold only a few doors are open, primarly the wash bay door right next to the parts room I work in.
There is 2 designated smoking areas that no one seems to follow.
I have asthma and its very easily triggered by cig smoke.
For those of you with asthma, you know what I’m talking about with feeling like a fish out of water.
I’ve said something to my manager, boss, and others that smoke. I get “oh well not my problem” from smokers and " get another inhalour just incase " from the higher up.
Its been months and nothing has changed, people light up and walk out and stand by the bay doors.
Anyone have to deal with anything like this?
Laws? I’m sure you know if I google’d it I wouldn’t understand most of dem big words.
I found that, I don’t see anything about distance or anything. They will stand “outside” but directly outside the bay door and the smoke blows right in.

they will probably fire me before they fix the problem.
I think this is only for govt buildings including schools and shit.
Someone at my old work emailed the health dept and they cracked down on the company since people were allowed to smoke wherever they wanted in the building and such.
Said any further violations would result in a fine, etc…
I was glad they did it… people throwing butts everywhere. fucking gross.
If you want to have fun. at least buy a pack of cigs (something from the res if you are out near one)… Then take a big old piss on it. Like a dark piss… Drink nothing but pepsi or something for a day so it’s really nasty and stanky… Then piss on them all. Put a few in random spots… So if ya got a desperate smoker who doesn’t have any, obviously he’ll grab it and smoke away.
A crackhead at my old work used to go in the used butt bucket and smoke anything he could get something out of.
edit; I see now it seems like they’re smoking inside. I thought at first they were smoking outside, but the smoke was blowing in.
Just email the health dept.
They’ll shut that shit down real quick.
Just be prepared that people are going to treat you like shit if you’ve complained about it before… As they’ll assume it was you.

You ever notice the one asshole who doesn’t want to get cold so he just stands halfway in the door ripping his cig while the winter gusts blow it all back in?
We had a similar problem at my small company. Someone called the health department and after hearing how much the fines were going to be the owner quickly adopted a zero tolerance policy.
Have you tried saying anything to the smokers? I doubt someone could be a big enough asshole to continue smoking around you after you have asked him no to,
