Maybe I am nieve…but I dont see how any of this really matters anyway. I am not a big govt. guy but I have to trust the people in place to know way more than any of us about anything going on at anytime. Despite the internets ability to give us information correct or not, I will trust professional military and intelligence people to make a call and understand the risk vs reward of starting a conflict.
Taxes will continue to rise regardless of military conflict so to me, that is an invalid argument.
If we need to step in and kick some ass…so be it. We have spent $ on less productive things like Michelles wardrobe and trips to Chicago to hang with Oprah.
I don’t think some of you comprehend the amount of money the DoD spends fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
You’re talking trillions in direct and indirect costs from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq…That is outside of the normal spending the DoD would have done.
Everything is a direct cost to tax payers…some worthwhile…most not so much.
I dont agree with rebuilding countries…seems like you could just give them 1/2 of the $ it would take to kick their ass and rebuild them…create an ally and sing kumbayah (i wasnt a boyscout)
Of course the other idea which I like…mind our business for the most part and invest in ourselves…seems simple enough.
it still amazes me that some people think it’s the lazy people on welfare that are racking up our debt even when you show them the data and they believe the data is true. THEN STILL say the problem is lazy people on welfare. Your grandmother on medicaid is probably taking more than a welfare recipient in a given year.
So I watched Red Dawn last night and I must say I don’t think they could ever attack us conventionally and they know it. At the end of WWII we used a nuclear bomb because Truman knew the death toll on both sides if we had to attack mainland Japan would have been incredibly high and the campaign would have been a fight against all the people, not just the army. I think this is the same scenario the North Koreans are looking at and learning from. That’s what scares me.
I do believe any invader on the US mainland would be in for the fight of all fights and would not survive very long. Just imagine every armed citizen and the military hitting them nonstop day and night.
This would be a problem. The government wants to limit what guns the citizens have access to. Could you imagine if we were armed with handguns and shotguns with 7 round magazines?

How advanced do you think North Korean drones are these days? They threatened an attack on our bases in S. Korea and they performed a mock drone attack yesterday. This young buck is really thinking he’s got what it takes to go 10 rounds…
