So I get my plates renewal in the mail today

Apparently I have to do emissions again, and I did it last summer.
So I’m assuming all that BS about yearly emissions is true.

Andrew.

Yes sir! a yearly sticker is $75 or $150 for 2 years which saves u the hassle.

Fucking cash grab.

fuckkk
im screwed

I think the system has a loop hole or is screwed up in some way. I’ve taken my car off the road the last 2 years (not renewed my plates in November) and have gotten new stickers in the spring for the last 2 years. Everytime I renew, I go to the licensing bureau with a valid e-test and never need it.

I’ve owned the car for 3 1/2 years and have not been asked for an e-test yet!

^^ LOL

maybe that’s why some people have to do it every year then! Just to balance things out…

 maybe

Andrew.

what year is the car and when did you first aquire it?

if you bought it in an off year (even model year, even current year) then it would need it done 2 years in a row…

otherwise if it has changed to every year, that upsets me…

It hasn’t changed to every year. I just checked with a buddy who is a mechanic certified to do etests.

that is because you have still done the e-test, they do not need to see that paper work. In there PC’s It will just state that you have done you e-test and passed

afaik it is still every 2 yr for a etest
i got my car last nov, and register it in dec
and the plate is due aug, 06 that just passed and mine is a 91’ so it’s suppose to get a etest done b4 renewing teh plate
but since i have teh etest done last dec, and the paper is vaild for a yr so i don need another etest

and now they don send u the yellow etest letter nemore
on ur plate renewal letter, if theres a red star beside ur car’s info that means u need to get a etest done b4 renewing…

remember, even yrs, odd yr models need a etest, and odd yrs, even yr models

i got a 93 and got the etest dun last november and insured it in december, does that mean it is still gud if i renew it before decemeber or not, im knew to the country and the set up is different here any advie would help, thks Sunjay

p.s my plates ave a 06 decemebr sticker on them

pretty sure u can do that…
even if not still worth a try to save urself $37.10 for another etest

i purchased my car in dec. and i got the etest done at that time.
and i just renewed my sticker for 2 years ftw

it was still valid… so that means in 08 i’ll have to do it again…:frowning:
unless its changed, i have to do it every year. which is going to be balls.
more money for them to grab off of you.

They may have changed it, I noticed when I was at the DMV last week that the 15 year e-test deal is now changed to 20 years. they were proposing both of those changes at the same time…

It has always been 20 years

1988 silvia ftw

Quote: in 2007 , vehicule older than 1995 would require annual testing.

yes the rolling exemption stopped at 1988 so all cars 88 and up are e-tested regardless of age… and any car over 12yrs is tested annually

so that means the s14 guys are safe for a few years

makes you wish you had an 87 s12 with an sr swap eh? :stuck_out_tongue:
