So, I got bit by a spider. WARNING< GRAPHIC PICS INSIDE

I think usually when you get something like that, you just educate yourself on it.

This is a very good point. Hopefully this thread, when all is said and done, can be educational

glad to see you are doing better bro.

just make sure you realize the problem lies when you substitute going to seek the proper medical attention in lieue of researching online.

I’m glad to hear that they rules out mrsa and staph, both of those are very not-so-pleasant things to have. Nor is the heavy duty antibiotic regimen your put on to fight those off. Not to mention once you have mrsa you are pretty much flagged for life as having it.

LiverHater,

Well it sounds like you had the right people around you, but I have seen several cases and man, that looks exactly like the several MRSA cases I saw. II hope the culture was take before the ABiotics had a chance to kill any bacteria/virus.

The fact the celluliotous went so quickly is a good sign the meds worked fast. One thing of note, if you start a MRSA anti-biotic, you should complete it fully, otherwise your body starts building immunity to it, and if you ever get it, you only have a few choices.

I hope they were right it the lab reports, and more over, if that was a bite, fuck man, thats scary too! Who do we blame, China or Obama, I am having a hard time pinning this on them at the moment!

Im not in the medical field, but when your in your late 30’s and have had loved ones with medical issues, you tend to do research. I research everything like a mofo. I tend to be a patient advocate, hospitals are dengerous as hell. The good doctors and nurses will tell you that in confidence all the time. Worse off is the dated information some medical professionals rely on. Lets just say I have been credited with saving a few lives. Maybe it makes up for crap like, well, peeing on the toilet paper in every public bathroom in 1992… just for the sheer joy of the next mans quagmire. Yes, I grew up, and now only pee in sinks and vaginas.

no need to be in confidence… Hospitals are fucking scary. No Joke. I work in one, and cannot stress enough that if you don’t feel confident in something or see something that bothers you, speak up. You have to sometimes take into consideration that Dr’s and RN’s are still human beings, and make mistakes. And then there are some that simply got their credentials from a cracker jack box. On more than one occasion I’ve spoken up for a patient when I noticed something that wasn’t quite right and is out of their norm, and on more than one occasion I’ve gone above the nurses, and even the doctors head and gotten somebody to address the issue. Sometimes people aren’t always willing to do that or just consider this profession like any other 9-5 job, and thats the scary part.
