…And I’m fucking pumped! Got an interview for an apprenticeship with NY Bricklayers Local #2. I really thought I would have no chance on even getting an interview after talking to one of the coordinators.
Congrats man… being in the union is good sh**

can I have your ebay listing state job?
petes dad is in the bricklayers IIRC
Im in Local 2. What aspect are you trying to get into? Bricklaying, restoration, terrazo , stone work?
yea, he does terrazo floors.
I’ve been mainly looking in to Bricklaying and restoration, But also looking into terrazo. Would you mind if i pmed you i got some questions.
Congrats. My dad is part of Teamsters, and the benefits are AMAZING
My dad works in BAC #2. Vladimir.
Really what is his specialty?
Not sure. He’s a mason…not a laborer. If that helps.
gotcha !!!
He’s been with them for like 15yrs or something.
Wow. I need someone I can ask a couple questions sit down and talk to about the BAc #2
That wont be my dad. He doesn’t enjoy speaking english unless he absolutely has to lol.
HAHAH damn!
He knows his shit though…so I’m sure if you worked with him sometime and had a question he’d teach you.
Here is some of the stuff at home he’s done (all by himself with the help of my two brothers and I):
Design in front of the garage:
Did all the wood working/fencing/stucco on the garage/gazebo/deck:
We built that garage (just the 4 of us). Took 2.5 summers but boy do I love it now. He’s from the old school philosophy of “don’t pay someone else to do work you can do yourself.” Hate mixing cement :(. He did the welding, etc.
Now is he a mason or bricklayer?
He’s a mason for BAC 2 last I knew, but he can do everything. Mason, brick, welding. He’s done showers, kitchens, outside work, you name it. Dude doesn’t pay for anyone to do anything. Cars, all him. All yard/stone work, all him.
