So I have these and I need them to look like these.

I need these:

To look like these:

For my BBS RS’s. They have a special threading on them to fit and stay in the face of the rim so they have to be coated a special way I assume.

Anyone know of a place that could do it locally at a decent price?
I need them done the sooner the better.

Oh, forgot to mention, theres 140 of them…

your description sucks.

I thnk what he is trying to say is he wants the bolts powder coated gold… so they look pritty in his rims…

maybe they were gold? and they just got all grimy?

I’d think maybe some sort of acid dipping? Maybe look into a chrome place, to see if they can get some heavy cleaner for you, or even some gold or zinc plating.

Do you need them COATED?

or REPLACED?

If you want them coated then you need to consider the fact that there is a finite clearance between the splines on the bolts and the splined holes. If you coat them with almost anything, they will not fit.

wouldn’t you only need the head coated since the threads will not be seen?

you don’t want to get them COATED.

you need to get them plated, specifically Titanium-Nitride plated.

(TiN is actually a thin film coating applied by physical vapor deposition)

Like every one else is saying, if you need the entire thing done, don’t get them coated. If you only need the heads done and not the thread, I can powder coat them for you. But I would suggest plating/dipping to make them what you are looking for like Newman said. Try here, then decide http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=134&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C389%2C400%2C407&KickerID=49&KICKER

I need what newman said and I’d like it done asap.

Thanks everyone.

sandblast and rattle can paint, your not building a show car.

Here, buy new ones…

the bolts are stretch to yield, and may not be able to maintain the right torque

you get em coated odds are they wont thread properly or maybe not at all, if they do theyd most likely end up being stripped but the threading process anyway. dipped for sure.Id rattle can em. They make a pretty good chrome like paint now a days, degrease the shit out of em and go at it.

No way. I’m not going to ruin a one off set of custom wheels with cheap spray paint.

Awesome! thanks for the links!

this is the worst advice in the whole thread.

listen to nothing this guy says.

ever.

Newman is correct; they need to be vapor metalized.

It IS going to cost you a bunch to do this; that is for sure. Plus it typically takes a couple weeks to do them.

The thickness of the coating is angstroms in thickness; it will have NO effect on thread or spline engagement.

I don’t know of any place locally that does this. I have stuff vapor metallized for work, but our places are in the Boston area, and in OH, and neither do TI coatings.

Expect to pay a DAMN high price for this; the process and materials involved are NOT cheap.

you could do titanium nitride for a gold look, or cad plating, its cheaper, has a different shade of gold/yellow and offers corrosion resistance as well. I also like black oxide but youre going for more of a gold-ish look

Thanks guys, does anyone have a rough estimate as to what I’m going to pay for this? 250-350 or 400-500? somewhere in those areas or higher?
