Yea so my S14 has been sitting at my mom’s house in newfoundland since i left 18ish months ago. Now its finially feasable to go get her, and since there’s a bunch of other things i wanna take with me i’m going to drive her here. So i just need the few checklist things i need to buy/check before the drive since i’ll only have a few days to get her ready.
Definatly need 4 new tires…
Check brakes, probaly get rotors machined and bleed fluid…
turn over the crank and make sure everything is turning…
put in fresh gas(tank is empty)
clean plugs
dump a little oil over the valves for start up(change oil after warm up)
ummm…i’m sure there’s so much more!
change your coolant for sure! and check to see if the frame hasn’t rusted out. my old acura was from the rock and it was fairly rusty.
buy something to hold your drinks, because your gonna need more than one half assed cup holder/console tray
Air filter would be a good one too.
have a fun drive
since the tank was empty wouldnt there be some condensation in it? maybe fill it up, and turn your car to “start” a few times but dont turn it over, just to flush your gas lines into a jug just incase theres some bad crud in there that you dont want in your injectors.
Check your electrical grounds in your engine bay for corrosion from sitting
If you are looking into shipping, contact Hansen’s Forwarding!! I have used them twice for 2 different 240’s and from Toronto to Calgary was $800. The cars were here in 4 days both times and they have full insurance and online tracking the whole way so you always know where your car is.
Wow chill - just seein how his car held up back there since that’s where I’m from. Didn’t think it would cause that much of a fuss. I’ll note that for later.
edit: yes I admit I’m new here and just started reading through these pages, and the posts get very old quickly after the first page or two I’m beginning to noitce. Didn’t mean to step on any toes.
