So Im buying a BB Storm...

In all honesty, it’s not that bad. The iPhone is still smoother and faster with less bugs… but you’re comparing a baby brand new Blackberry to a phone that has been around for years.

It’s not such an iPhone killer as it was originally touted to be, but it has the potential to be much better than what it is currently.

I know this question has been beatin into the ground, but mickdad246 wasnt serious about it coming to verizon was he? I mean…could that be one of the 3 phones? Not trying to start a flame war. I just dont have cell phone knowledge. Because if thats the case, I may just wait.

it was semi-rumored, crushed for a long time because it never came from a reputable source.

However, now it has resurfaced, and it very well could be true, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

What do you want to use your phone primarily for?

Ya the phone def isn’t an iPhone killer but is a slick alternative to a touch screen phone with a corporate email/blackberry backend on it. Def a step up from a non BB phone with email but if you have the choice between the two, I have seen very few people say that they like this interface over the iPhone if they had the choice.

And no, Verizon will not get the iPhone anytime soon. Its been a rumor since the first iPhone came out and continues to be a rumor today that will never become true.

Other than the basic call/txt bs, just for music when I jog, email, and internet browsing when Im bored. Wouldnt mind a few simple games. Nothing elaborate.

blackberry browsers blow. i really want to like the storm, but i can’t. has anyone actually read a positive unbiased review on it? hopefully when the storm 2 drops it will be much better.

as for iphone on verizon, the rumor seriously resurfaced a couple weeks ago, and not just internet idiots who don’t know anything about anything babbling. from what i read, supposedly, it will be radically different from the 3G version everyone knows on AT&T. I also read that AT&T has renewed its iphone exclusivity screaming efforts. I also read that big wigs at apple are saying they don’t want to go to verizon until LTE is fully implemented. all this stuff contradicts each other and i don’t know shit about cell phones anymore so i wouldn’t listen to a word i said.

So IF I do want an iphone, att is it huh? How do you get out of early termination fees again? lol

Alright, so in the end I guess Im going to stick with my original idea of getting the storm. I used it and for the most part enjoy it. The browser is the only thing that will be new to me. I already ordered the 16GB microsd and the 2600mAh extended battery. Im just not ready to leave verizon and have to deal with the terrible 3G battery life. 3 of my friends that own a 3g tell me its great but there arent any good extended battery options that dont make it clumsy. And 2 of them said the service is good but verizons is still btr. The other one is an iphone humper and says at&t is god. But he doesnt count.

Basically Im just rationalizing out loud because Im not sure I made the right choice. We’ll see come friday when its upgrade time.

if it’s time for an upgrade, then don’t pay an early termination fee. you probably only have two more months until you can cancel. i really just can’t see locking myself into that phone for 2 years. the review thing really concerns me.

Who says you’re locking yourself into a phone for 2 years?

You can upgrade after a year.

depending on plan, yes.

Plus, 3 strikes rule - you’re never stuck with a phone if you know how to manipulate customer service…

i didn’t know verizon did that. that’s fancy.

every time i tried scamming that i had a hard time pulling it off. it was like they always suspected me of being up to no good. i did pull it a few times. i imaging the number of phones that i’ve had on my account is what did me in. lol.
